I am working the shifter pedestal tomorrow, having settled on an initial design, so I look forward to the fuel tank mods. It's getting additional capacity to 18 gallons, the chrysler pump sender recirc module and A.N. fittings.

I have been extremely impressed with the build, not my style, but still awesome.

I am surprised more people have not tuned in...

I wish I had your commitment to a project, I will not mention you to the wife as she'll try to make me have more get up and go. My get up and go has gone.

out of all the specialized sites I have set up shop in, this has got to be the best one for alien [me] content tolerance. I realize that I'm here on a tethered nickel, a technicality. an elaboration of an engine swap candidate question. Legitimate though diverted down a long dirt road, well off the highway.
Your interest is refreshing.
the issue of being out of get up and go is relative--everything on this globe is an illusion. This is more "work" than I have ever done to a vehicle, and yet, because I originated its design and intent, It's magic, not work. at 50, I could be delegating a lot more and doing other things, but this is where the excitement lies. It's empowering and rewarding when a solution is found and implemented, and terrifying during the discovery phases. My tail really is swaying in the wind. any one issue could invalidate this whole project, but I keep getting solutions. I have a kind of momentum you cant normally get when working for weekly money. I wake every day and attend to the details. a luxury I have never had before.
and yet, it may stop, due to an opportunity I have been given, to go back into aerospace as a master upholstery tech for Gulfstream aircraft co.

I worked for them 13 years ago and was forced out due to nepotism. can things change in 13 years? I dunno-- so I go like hell until the other shoe drops. either way, I am blessed. thanks to all here--todd

I redesigned the fuel tank with more capacity and the mopar pump module in mind. the lhs range selector cable is running down the inside of the left frame rail. the wires submerge into that same rail to make room for the cable. I made minimal reliefs for coolant tubing [1x2x1/8 steel] and e brake cable as opposed to the giant volume robbing valleys oopswagen devised. this is the top down view

the right to left view

and the south to north view

I needed something to help me marinate my brain in this, so i made a 1/2 scale model out of pattern board and 2" tape. the chrysler pump module will set in the center of the very top section [fwd] -It's 18 gallons now, up from 15. this is the last major modification needed before the wiring can begin. I might have 500+ miles of range with this. that's a lot.

I sorted out the ebrake and shifter cables for the most part today. this is a shifter cable bracket I made out of a mopar trans part and a simpson strong tie construction bracket i have had laying around for years.

this is the 91 tercel shift cable that i am using for the e brake-it will get just past the tank and connect to the beamer hub cables

instead of having a custom range selector cable made to the proper length, I used two at 27.00 ea and this slider thing

and the coolant tubing tucked away
