Well finally we have an update.

The car we had the 300 kit on was having some serious tuning issues. First we thought it was due to the fuses being pulled to allow for a full dyno run, but that turned out not to be it. Then I thought there was a MAF problem and replaced that, still nothing.

Wednesday we spen 5 hours on the dyno and after seeing no changes as we kept dumping fuel we got puzzled. After a long search we found a piggyback (ebay junk) chip spliced into the stock ECU harness and tucked under the ECU. Found a name on the chip and called the company. Turns out it keeps the AFR at 14.7 and will allow 0 changes to timing, no matter what you do.

So the customer is having this removed on Monday, so we can follow up with some real results.

Such a huge waste of time. Never buy anything on ebay!

Sounds familier to the problem some SRT6's are having. I assume both the NA and SRT6 run the same fuel pump and regulator, just different injectors?

:: Edit:: Read and interpreted post incorrectly, sorry.

Is the customer the original owner of the car and put this in themselves, or did they buy the car used and not know about this thing on their car?

How would you say the car was running before all the work?

BC.

Not at all related to the injectors or the fuel pump. The piggyback was keeping any changes from happening.

The car was running much like any other tuned car. Much better throttle response and more top end pull. Of course this is caused by the excessive leaning of the AFR to 14.7. We like to have the car's read a 13.4 at the tail pipe for the best results.

The bad thing is this PB also intercepts the timing changes and if it is anything like the other ebay items, it is a completely erratic table.

I'll keep everyone posted on the results!

Anthony moved on to bigger and better things, Hundia Gen turbo and actual MB cars.... So I doubt he will finish the development on the 300 package. Last time I spoke with him he told me he would keep offering the products he has out but not produce anything new for the X-fire.
