All oil filters are rated for how many miles they are good for. So any filter that you get should be rated for at least 7000 miles. Most cheap filters are rated for 3000 to 5000 miles. Not good for the Crossfire...............

 

At operating temperature and over 3000 rpm, normal oil pressure can range from 45-105 psi. At curb idle oil and operating temperature oil pressure should be a minimum of 5 psi. So at startup 120 psi is possible. But the pressure doesn't harm the filter because the filter is porous so it doesn't provide enough resistance to the flow to cause it to deform or "disintegrate".

 

Yes. Even the Chinese paper ones are of decent quality. On another recent thread I pointed out that stores like Advance Auto only list the paper filter in their in-store filter application guide while the fleece filter sits right beside the paper filter on the shelf. A paper filter will work fine for the Crossfire's oil change interval. For an "extended" interval, the fleece filter should be used. But since they're roughly the same price anyway, it never hurts to get the fleece if available. But definitely not an impending disaster for using a paper filter for up to a year/7500 miles.
