Are the Mercedes OEM filters paper, and is that why the Advance Auto filters are better?

All the Walmarts in the Bay Area don't carry 0W-40 in the biggee size only 1qt.

This would be a great deal for Crossfire owners to be able to buy the big jugs since it is < $5 a qt. Anyone else see Mobil 1 5qt 0W-40 at their local Walmart?

I'm happy to pass this information on.
I've found some Great deals that other members have found and posted.
That's what makes this group great!
Owners helping (and amusing) each other.
It will be interesting to see how long this price lasts.
Until the price changes, Happy Hunting.

The Purolator L25277 filter is a repackaged Mann HU718/5 fleece filter.
They are not even trying to disguise the filter. It is the Mann filter with O rings in a Purolator Box.
Don't get the L25276 filter - It is a paper Chinese version of the filter.

Mine does not say "Mann" on it - only "Made in Germany 080910".
It has the same coloring as the one pictured in the OP.
The one in the 76 box looks quite different and cheaper - no stringy webbing around the element like this one has.
Did I buy the right Fleece filter? If so, I am going back to get one more - that way, I am done buying Filters for the next two years or so!

Boogers, we only have Pep boys, Kargen and Autozone. I went to all 3 today. Pepboys have the L25276 and the L25277 side by side and the latter was $28.49, the other stores didn't even carry Purolator.

Best of all, the price was $11.49 each (plus tax).
Not a bad deal.

The box is unsealed, so you can look before you buy.

I already knew there are no Advanced Auto Parts in Kalifornia, but they have the same $11.49 price online, with free shipping if I buy 8. Perhaps I can find another member to split the order with me!

Does aynone know where I can purchase an extra oil filter cap assembly for quick and easy oil changes? I can't find it listed on any company's auto parts list. The Mercedes dealer here in Fort Washington, PA will not service a Crossfire. The service manager said he could not bring up anything about the Crossfire on his service computer.
Re: Good, Inexpensive OEM Fleece Oil Filter
There seems to be a rush to get these Mann filters from Advance Auto, but I'm curious why there're better than the Mercedes OEM filters listed at some dealers on-line for $11.25 (no tax, free shipping for orders >$50 or so), for instance OE Discount Parts
