Exhaust damage due to Rearend Accident
Should I take the car to the dealer and let them assess the damage prior to letting the body shop/insurance company take care of all repairs. What possible damage could this cause? should I have the hold exhaust system replace to prevent later problems?
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

1. How much damage was done?...i.e. post some photos of the damage.
2. Your real concern should be repairs to the bumper and under carriage.
3. Is your insurance company directing you to a particular body shop? If so, you need to find a better insurance agency. It most likely won't be repaired to your long term satisfaction.

the body shop will be able to do all necessary repairs including the exhaust replacement. and they will also be able to determine any further hidden damage. and customer satisfaction is very important to the collision repair industry so i wouldnt be worried. if you do have a problem with the repair they will fix it again.

I had AAA tow it to the dealer. The dealer actually told me that the body shop would be best for the all the repairs. I said wow.
He said they charged 106 dollars per hour and body shop only charged 65 dollars. Not my dime the insurance company's. I interested in what possible damage the impact could have caused, but I received the perfect answer Hard to determine without seeing the actual affects. Thanks for all the responses. I will update with all damages reported by body shop.
