Default Mods begin

Don't have pic's yet, but I've started down the mod path. Within days of each other, I installed my single NW CAI (black) with the MB engine cover and then went with the Magnaflow cat-back the next day. That exhaust sounds fantastic though the drone even in the roadster is going to take a bit of getting used to. We did a long run of about 280 miles today with the local GCG, so that is a start.

32, please let us all know a bit more about this mod of a mod? I don't have any problem with my MF catback, but I rarely drive it with the top up!

Thanks!

With the top down is certainly is better. As to the x-pipe vice the h-pipe, I didn't notice an h-pipe when I looked under there. Now with the MF having two in and going down to one, I may very well find a shop willing to take it to a dual up to the rear cats and in doing so have an x-pipe installed.

Could be I don't recognize it, so here is a diagram

Thanks, pal. I've seen that diagram before and that's why I asked!

Is there something else I'm missing?

The difference is between the NA and SRT exhausts. The SRT exhaust has an "H" pipe. See the following diagrams:

SRT Exhaust

The SRT has a dual that goes into the resonator, and then has a single that comes out of the resonator.

No problem. I am a bit surprised that the exhausts are different between the two though.

Well, let me clear something up....I'm not fortunate enough to own an SRT Roadster.

Still, most of these candyass shops around me didn't even want to touch the idea of turning my exhaust into a true dual. The one that seemed willing, wanted to see what others have done, but seemed to not want to be bothered to get up under there himself to see what he could do.

The look goes on to find a reasonable close and fair costing shop to take the Magnaflow all the way to dual with an x-pipe

looking at the great pics bob posted all you have to do is cut your exhaust at th y pipe just past the cats. dual it from there to the muffler. this issue you will have is the catback is a single tube design. magnaflow does make a dual inlet dual out muffler that could be used but i have no idea as to the noise level.
i placed my x pipe in the same location as the oem h pipe. from what i have read, lengthening the exhaust or shortening the exhaust will change the sound. the balance pipes (x or h) are used to balance the flow from 1 side to another and placement is a mathematical calculation based upon the system. thats why i put mine in the same place.

For custom work, at least in this area, one would go to a Big-A$$ed truck place. They are used to one-off fabrication for them. Avoiding aftermarket suspensions and the like.

Might be worth a try? Just a suggestion, my friend.
