Max Supercharger RPM's
Guys does anyone know whats the max the s/c can take in terms of RPMS?
I'm planning on running my code 3 stacked with a 178 crank pulley which will put the supercharger at 16,440 RPMS @ 6,000RPMS (engine).
I know it wont handle it for long periods of time, but should it be okay if I dont go to hard for to long?
Would extra cooling e.g. water/meth help the cause?

ps my sister is on the gold coast and loves aus. me i love it here is SA. how do you think we are going to do against each other in the 20/20 cricket world cup ??
I have been running stacked (C3 + 181) for quite a while now. You are correct in stating, "I know it won't handle it for long periods of time" as I did have a problem after an extend run at upper RPM levels over a 30 mile or so run. But around town, light to light driving shouldn't be a problem.
Somewhere there's a list of pulleys and rpm levels. I don't think that stacked C3 + 178 is any worse than running a 185 alone.
A A/F ratio gauge is cheap insurance to ensure you aren't running too lean. Get one.

Here's part of the info I have in my notes. I don't remember who the original author is though...
"The MAX RPM our SC can spin is 20K but that will distroy it quickly.
MAX safe SC RPM is 15.5K to have any chance of a long life.
Let's calculate SC RPM.
Crank / SC = (Ratio) * Engine RPM = SC RPM
155 / 74 = (2.10) * 5.8K = 12,180 SC RPM (Factory)
178 / 74 = (2.41) * 6K = 14,460 SC RPM
181 / 74 = (2.45) * 6K = 14,700 SC RPM
185 / 74 = (2.50) * 6K = 15,000 SC RPM
Code 3 pulley = 65mm (so I've read)
155 / 65 = (2.38) * 6K = 14,280 SC RPM
178 / 65 = (2.74) * 6K = 16,440 SC RPM
Raise your rev-limiter over 6K when you tune and then re-do the math."
I'm pretty sure anything over 15k RPM is considered maxing out the supercharger. Anything over 16k I'd say you'll burn it up pretty quick from what I've read (the danger zone, if you will).

well, the maximum rpm is irrelevant.
you guys need to find the compressor map for your supercharger and plot out the points...
you could spin the supercharger to 20psi, but it wouldnt matter if it was just pumping out superheated air

BTW - Ed said they re-manufacturer our SC's for $1,495 + Shipping.
They send you a crate that will secure your SC to ship back to them in.
It all depends on risk and if you think your ECU will adjust fuel maps beyond 21 PSI.

I wonder if say SL55 Injectors would be a straight fit without any modifications.
What I distilled from the thread is that the supercharger is a blessing and a curse. It makes huge power and at the same time limits how much more power we can add. I think that's the reason the real power hungry owners are selling and moving on. But hey, I'm happy with a mid 12 6 cylinder. I'm working on getting the car faster in the curves and stopping. That's where I'm hungry.

Using stock injectors and all is fine. Keep in mind that I'm at 4700 ft elevation so there may be some difference at sea level.
