Default P2097 & P2098

I have never had the check engine light come on since owning the XF for 8 months now. Literally one day after having it serviced for the transmission connector leak, the light came on. Checked out to be codes P2097 and P2098, post catyl fuel too rich on bank 1, and too lean on bank 2 (in that order). Does anyone have knowledge that would lead me to believe the 2 events are related, or is this just coincidence? I reset the codes, only to have them return tonight. Any hints on what to check? I did the normal gas cap secure check, but don't really know anything else to try.

Sound like to me they may have hit a O2 and damage it , there is one next the tran plug they fixed , Take it back and tell them about it ,

were the downstream o2's disconnected?
if so swap them,
happened to me from a dealer repair
if you look at the harness the longer lead goes to the closer o2
wont cost anyything to try

Took it back to the dealer yesterday. They didn't find anything wrong, but did disconnect and clean all connections. They did admit that they could have got tranny fluid on them during the repair. We'll see if the check engine light comes back. It generally takes a few days. If so, I'll try the swap as recommended. Thanks guys.

Unfortunately, the light came back on today. Will try the swap and report back. Does anyone know exactly how the connectors come apart?

Thanks Woody. think I'll wait for this St. Louis weather to drop below 100F before crawling under there! Wow, it's been hot here, and my garage is NOT air conditioned!

Update: I hope this doesn't jinx me, but it's been more than a week since I swapped the O2 connectors, and so far, no check engine light! Thanks for the advice! I'm quite sure the dealership would never have figured it out!

Same issue. Disconnected the O2 sensors and noticed that it appeared some fluids (Most likely tranny fluid) had gotten past the weather seal. The contacts were oily. Good cleaning with contact cleaner, small amount of dielectric grease, reconnected. All good! Those connectors are in a susceptible spot, especially if any tranny service has been done.
