BEGi Turbo Kit information/discussion thread
Last time I saw a complete turn key SC V8 offered, it was north of $20,000 for the engine and install. Good luck with that...
Check in your settings and you can upload all your stats to a server and then with your computer go online and it will graph out all your data for you. I think this little $5 app is worth it.
nNope, don't get excited those are the ones from last year...that would be 2012..
At least you can count on them NOT to finish a project per their own deadlines!
$300 EC Tune list is started for those who have thrown in the towel here! 30 days.. 10 buyers.. $300 bucks..

Officially asked about refund, will see where it leads (nowhere is my feeling) at this point I said asking us to sell spots etc. is not an answer as nobody is going to get near with this kind of history. Ill be glad to reevaluate if the product ever exists. That cash would have been better served in my IRA or in other mods that exist.
Response:
Daniel,
Should you still choose to cancel when the kit is finished we will refund deposits then. But understand the kit price will be raised if there are not 10 orders. The kit is almost done. We need to run oil lines and finished welding the intercooler tubes. Once that is done the car should be running. And we will do the ECU reflash. We realize this is taking longer than expected, however we are working on the project as funds allow. We had hoped to have it finished the end of January, but we are still about 2 weeks out.
Yet another 2weeks...wonder how many more 2 weeks there will be after that 2 weeks and then after that 2 weeks... And then....

2 weeks ! 2 weeks! how many times have we heard 2 weeks. You would think if any progress was made our Thanksgiving pictures would show up as promised. B.S. that is all that is in my humble opinion.
This is a disapointing turn of events to say the least. It would have been so cool to have turboed Crossies competing with kompressor ones.
This repetitive 2 week delay pattern usually turns out to mean someone isn't getting their money back

I have 2 SRT's and I have been at it for 4 yrs getting them to where I would like them. Several new products/mods have come available right in the middle of finishing them, and I am delayed again because I changed directions. Modding is never quick, never that easy. As I have stated before, they should have never made the deadline promise, because modding these cars just isn't easy. BEGi has learned just like many others have learned, it isn't easy even for those who have considerable knowledge about cars...Hopefully the final product will be worth it...but even as they finish this product for your N/A's. We on the s/c side are finding more HP as well... It is what it is.... Many times, I have though about returning to my old "bowties" and calling it quits, but I do like these little cars...good luck...I will check back in in in in 2 weeks....
I'd hate to think it would take me 10 months staring at a car to figure out where to route what. Especially since this is what they do! They are still dealing with getting components in place, and they have stated nothing about the tune, which is where the real fun is going to be. If I'm not mistaken forum members in the past have implemented a turbo setup in less time (excluding the finish with a tune).
I just feel like being truly honest about this situation is just not an option for them.

Yep, a quick extrapolation of Date of completion based off of fitment and product sourcing would put delivery at around June 2018 Knowing the struggles everyone has had trying to tune Thier various systems.
I understand where all you guys are coming from. No one likes to admit to biting off more than you can chew. Especially on a fixed budget. I think you just have to ride this one out. But if there are fast turbo'd n/a's out there, that are running SRT 6 times. I haven't met them yet.
Just to keep everything in prospective, this is what they said they would do for us:

Crossfire enthusiasts,
Clearly, I am delighted with the prospect of creating turbocharger hardware for the Crossfire. Thanks to all of you for the kind reception.
Bob Lawrence and John Sheflet took the time and effort to allow Tim Pawkett and me to look the CF over closely. Tim will one day be my replacement as engineering boss. John lives here in San Antonio, and Bob drove down from north Fort Worth. Bob was the gentleman that introduced us to the idea of building a Turbo CrossFire.
While I like small cars for all the speedy, responsive, and economical reasons, turbocharging a 3.2 liter V6 in a 94 inch wheelbase car will require a configuration a bit different than we normally like to build. In our view, the rear mounted turbo is the obvious solution to "]turbocharging the Crossfire. All of us agreed that a rear mounted turbo offered the best combination of cost, simplicity, andease of installation. Intercooling will be employed and it appears the classic front mounting has plenty of space available. Power cares not where the turbo lies, but response might. That may require fine tuning the turbo sizes somewhat more extensively than a more standard layout.
We feel it necessary to assemble two prototypes before shipping any assemblies. Any changes, while minor, to the second vehicle will be offered to the first. We will certainly cover all the bases with quality components, but we further intend to give our best efforts to simplicity and low production costs.
An objective price for the system is $3,500. The cost of creating a new system is clearly well in excess of the cost of the system itself. Your very generous contribution of deposits allows us to do the work and organization involved.
Performance, of course, remains somewhat guess work at this point. Experience, however, suggests boost pressures of 6 to 7 psi will offer 40 to 45% increase in rear wheel horsepower. Hopefully, that will offer approximately 100 more rwhp.
Our office and work shop are in the middle of renovation. The earliest opportunity to start on the CF project will be mid-December. We think eight to ten weeks should complete CF One. Hopefully, then, CF Two will only require four weeks to complete.
All of us at Bell are very keen on the Crossfire Turbo project. I would like to express my appreciation to the Crossfire community for offering us this opportunity.
Cordially,
Corky Bell
