Default Mobil 1 Oil plus Mobil 1 filter

To those in need:

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcs...2012-flexi.pdf

Advance Auto has a pretty darned good price on a 5+ jug or 5 individual quart bottles plus ANY (ours included M1C-253) Mobil 1 Oil Filter:

$29.99

The Mobil 1 filter (Entended Life Synthetic fiber/Viton o-rings) Is regular $19.99 alone.

Even with this inflated filter price, $6/quart and a free high-quality filter is pretty hard to beat!

Yes, I bought my 5, but must wait 'til Tuesday for 3 of the filters. I'm good for some time to come

Oh, yeah. Last page in the flyer and it's in-store only. Make them order it if you have to!

Got 2 of the oil change specials today at advance. 10 quarts, 2 filters (had to the purolators in stead of the K & N or Bosch which they usually just let me take instead of the mobile 1 filters. $63 --- can't beat it. I know have 20 quarts in stock in the garage and 4 filters.........so I'm good for more than a years at this rate.

I asked about swapping filters, but they told me no. Said the computers are setup for the sale, and won't let them override. I assume that's probably the case, but would think a manager could override, and set whatever price they wished. Oh, well. I'm going to have them order 3 filters for me Tuesday at the store close to where I work.

Do you mean 3 different filters for 3 different cars? Make 3 separate purchases?

I use Wix on the other vehicles. Going to get 3 filters for the Crossfire. Might go ahead and get the limit of 5.

I'm thinking he wanted a different brand filter. You can get the Mobil1 filter for 5 different cars if you want it is not forbidden in the sale conditions. One jug and one mobil1 oil filter per set.

Folks at Advance in Roanoke, AL didn't really care what filter, or even what brand filter you got.
I already had 4 Mann's so I got a Purolator for the XFire ( really a Mann ), 2 Bosch's for the Concorde, a K&N for the Suburban and the Probe ...

They also only had 4 5 qt jugs of 0-40, so they let me have 5 quarts at the same $29.95 price .....

There were 3 people working there today, they all came outside to look at my Roadster ....

The guys at my advance store are really quite accomodating. They don't care and will overide the filter and just give you what ever you want. That's why I keep going back there.

I think newer Mercedes products are now using 5w40, and I understand it's OK to use in our cars too.
I've heard of Royal Purple, never tried it, and I've never read anything about it. Sorry.
