Headers, I mean jewelry, arrived
On Wednesday I hope to pick up my car and all the graphs. Pre header, open header and muffled and overlays and I'll post them up. I haven't even heard what it sounds like yet.
One things for sure, these headers make stupid power.

Good job, I wonder what this will mean to all the N A cars that have the intake side of things worked out. It has always been my understanding that intake / exhaust along with cam timing were the way to enhance overall volumetric efficiency . Wish you the best this W/E

So the 336 number was your baseline correct (sans headers)?

Tomorrow I pick up my car. I should have the graphs, but dyno impressions etc. in the afternoon and I'll start a new thread as this one seems almost void of excitement.

HaHa, Misery loves company! I was hoping to get Les's old NW's downpipes, but I think he used part of them for the new midsection of his system. Congrat.'s on the great #'s Les.
Yes and no. The dyno software was set to 4wd parasitic losses for the open header pulls and the headers with stock exhaust hooked up. The numbers don't mean anything. After this discovery another, well around 10 further dyno pulls were done. The initial numbers were less than the before dyno. After adding fuel via methanol a gain of 4 hp. I ran a 1/2 mile event and ran 1.4 mph faster with the headers. Not a whole lot. A little. I'll be going over the car carefully to be sure I don't have a boost leak or other problem before I do anything else. I was shocked by the 40 hp and I'm equally shocked by the 4 hp number. The headers are up against the firewall on the drivers side so I feel a little vibration. I was told the heat shield needed to be removed but I decided to leave it on. Mistake. The install took 12 hours. The steering box has to be loosened and moved. The primary O2 sensor bung is in one of the tubes so you see more fluctuation in AFR's from the pulsing from only one cylinder. The headers are beautiful and the welds are excellent. The communication with Dyno Comp has been excellent but we haven't spoken since the instal and they don't know the results yet. I've got lots of hair pulling to do and things to check. The car seems to be running rich even with AFR's on the lean side so I suspect leaking upper manifold gaskets. The new gaskets will be in my hands before too long and I'll either have to except the current reality or be relieved that I was leaking boost like crazy. My boost gauge shows 17 psi down from 19 psi.

Wow, you are detailed my friend. Dyno Comp is lucky to have you being the one testing these out and getting objective data back in their hands. I'm pumped to see all the results you come up with here. Thank you for taking the time to keep us updated.
What kind of gaskets are you gong to use for the mani's? The copper sprayed OEM's have done great for me so far.

This doesn't surprise me. The E55 crowd experienced boost drop too because the headers have way less backpressure.
It doesn't surprise me either. What does is the E55 guys gain 40 hp and up just from headers and that's not only the internets talking. I've got an E55 friend that put headers on. The good part of all this is now I can stack pulley's safely .... I hope.
I have a drag rental on Saturday night and another 1/2 mile april 28th. I plan on using drag radials and sneaking my old Code3 on the supercharger for the 1/2 mile and running the car as is for the drag rental. It's part of the header test.

Still, I agree that it's strange that the E55 guys gain so much, without having to play the PSI shuffle. I know they have two more cylinders, but you should still be seeing ~25 RWHP... one would think.
