Eurocharged Transmission Tune?
Has anyone installed the transmission tune from Eurocharged, if so what do you think, are you happy with the results? I'm torn between the trans tune or the ECU tune, I'm only dropping the cash on one or the other. The stock SRT-6 trans is a little funky in it's habits that's why I'm considering the trans tune. Feedback would be appreciated!
i had the first prototype e/c tcu tune for the m112k motor. for 6 months they tried to dial it in and eliminate the 21 far spikes between the shifts. do your homework this is a motor killer for sure
The newest Eurocharged TCU works great in my car. There are quite a few guys on MBworld having success as well. Never had one from Rudy, so I cannot comment on his.
So no more surprises, all good firm shifts when it is supposed too? How about re-programming for rear end gear changes? Is that a go now regardless of gear... I want to go higher than 3.27. Sorry, but these are the things to spend some $$$$$$ on. I would still go with the ECU tune first though....lol
Although I have been happy with my EC TCU tune, When I floor it in 1st and 2nd, but then let off the gas just below redline in 2nd and manually upshift to third, the car won't upshift for three or four (very scary) seconds while the rpm stays at or near redline even though I've totally released the gas in an attempt to drop the revs. Is this what you are talking about Doc, or is it something else?

that has been the complaints I have heard. But, Bryan puts his car thru the paces, so I listen to what he has to say. Bottom line, is what would I spend money on out of the gate. It would still be the ECU tune. Best bang for the buck. Shift points are set at WOT, so in those cases, I'm not worried about the tcu.
I have a spare TCM with the Speedriven TCM tune through Rudy and thought it was a vast improvement over stock. Crisper shifts both up and down shifting. I switch it out with my stock TCM on occasion. Only takes 10 minutes to change it.

Now that would be the way to go, but again....he was asking which to do first. I would like to get the HP, before the shifting....I will have to look for a spare.....
Ok, I spent the day doing research and found the answer. This is normal behavior for the tiptronic transmission. It has nothing to do with the EUROCHARGED tcu tune. The fix is to just let it autoshift on its own from first to second at redline. There were tons of threads fron 2006/07 detailing this behavior long before there was a EU TCU tune.

If you are talking about launching hard and not letting it go to redline, but instead, letting off? You have that crazy I won't shift. That is normal. It thinks we are going to redline, and you confuse it when you don't lol. In fact, it can become a bucking bronco at times when this happens....
Yep, that's it😀
