Default Sorry for The Dumb Question

I was one of the guys who a long while ago did the group purchase of the Eurocharge. Love the mod and everything is great. Just wondering tho, do you still have to get tune ups with the Eurocharge. It has been a couple of years since I got the Euarocharge, should I now be considering a tune up with spark plugs like in the traditional sense or do I get the tune up thru the Eurocharge process.

Again, sorry about the possible ridiculousness of my question but I am in a fog about this

Thanks everyone

Sr Williams, I am here in Fresno, CA & we have been getting fog every morning & early in the evening so I know a lot about fog. Spark plugs per the scheduled maintenance on your XF should be done every 100,000 miles. I don't know anything about the Eurocharge process but the information you received with your Eurocharge should tell you what you need. I'm sure someone else will be able to help you. There are no dumb questions, just dumb answers like this one.

The EuroCharge tune applies to only tweaking some PTCM engine maps, it has no relation to maintenance schedules.
Check the owners manual ( avail from below link ) for the different schedules as determined by mileage.

I put new plugs in mine at 50000 miles and about 6 years old. I'm glad I did as they were partially frozen in place, hard to remove. The plug tips were good though.

It's always a good idea to look over the plugs every 25-35,000 miles, if for nothing else but to keep them from seizing up. A common problem with aluminum head motors.

I am sorry I misfocused everyone. I now know not to focus so much on the spark plugs as I have less than 40,000 miles on my car. My real question goes to the Eurocharge. After having it on my car for over a year and a half, is there supposed to be tuning or remapping done on the Eurocharge, or once it is set on the car it is set.

I see there is mention about tuning on the Eurocharge, how and when does all of that work?

Once your car has been Eurocharged you will only need to have Eurocharged run another tune (free) once you install other performance upgrades such as 74mm throttle body, Cold air intake, exhaust manipulations etc.

Routine maintenance on your engine has nothing to do with the Eurocharged tune. Your manual explains what should be part of the A Service and the B Service intervals, which alternate between each other every 10,000 miles!
It is important to not only go by mile suggestions in regards to maintenance as some of our car are a little over 10 years old now. Especially the spark plugs are extremely hard to remove once they are stuck in place as Harry Hitze described! If you have not done so, try to find out what services have been done on your vehicle so far and at what mile marker, then take it from there. It is highly recommended to keep up with the service on these cars if you want to drive it for a while and get good performance out of it!!
Good luck and happy driving. They are fun little cars

Heh Nick:

Thanks for the well laid out guidance. You answered all of my concerns and I will get on the maintenance check as you laid out . I will also contact Eurocharge and get the free adjustment since I have done the mods. Again, thanks so much

Heh Mr M:

To be truthful I was waiting for you to weigh in on my plea for assistance and guidance as I knew you would---for it is something I have come to count on (smile)

I will keep you posted but I am certain everything will work out b/c the Eurocharge guys seemed to be really okay---that is, at least when i was going thru my actual purchase. So, I am at least going about this with a positive mindset

I show up eventually.. LOL. I had contacted them on my wife's car and was told "it was fine".. so just wondering. I know with the 6's pully swaps etc. a re tune is pretty much mandatory.
