Oil change extractor
Re: Oil change extractor
Yes, I have the Mityvac 7300 ( compressed air operated ).
I have changed oil 3 times with it and the transmission fluid once.
I takes about 10 minutes to pull out all the oil, if it's cold.
If warm, about 5 minutes.
It is $98 on Amazon, slightly cheaper elsewhere.
Beats the heck out of jacking up the car and removing the belly pan

Re: Oil change extractor
I use Gravity, my old friend. My car has no belly pan and I have a 2 1/2 gallon pan that fits under the car - so I dont' even jack the car up.
I'll make the video when I change it next, sometime next year as I changed it two weeks ago and only change it about every nine months (at around 5500 miles).

Canadian Tire carries it and has it on sale quite often around here.

Re: Oil change extractor
I've used one for years. I love it. It holds almost 2 full oil changes from an XFire. Was about $100. Hand pump, takes between 5-10 minutes. Very quick if the oil is hot. Also, very easy to then just take the recepticle to an autostore and dump the oil for recycling. Clean, not need for jacking the car, removing the cover under the car or messing with an oil pan. To me, it's the only way I will change the oil in this car.

My one does one change and a bit more (ten liters) and as it does not pump out that is heavy enough to tip. Suck it out when it is warm, not hot as that will warp the plastic.

Re: Oil change extractor
OK!. One thing missing though what model are you talking about? Almost doing two changes is not much benefit really.

Almost 2 oil changes is just to provide a litmus on volume. I use it for other cars / equipment as well so it's helpful to have a larger capacity in my case. I only need it for 1 oil change a year for the crossfire because I only put about 3 to 4 k miles a year on mine. I can go full hot on my oil because my extractor has a metal flex tube so no worries on warping plastic tubing and my container is very heavy / thick plastic so it's not a concern either. It's pretty tall and on a good platform so tipping isn't an issue and even if it did it's a contained unit so no spillage from it either.

I'll see if I can find the model and post later.
