Hi does anyone know the part number for the torque converter and if I can use one from a Mercedes or other car as there are more of those available. I have just replaced the auto gearbox because it was slipping due to contaminated fluid, I didn't change the torque converter but completely drained it and refilled with clean fluid. The car drove perfectly for about two weeks but it's started slipping when it gets hot and making a whining sound. Someone has told me that the torque converter has plates in it that would have been damaged by the contaminated fluid so I think I need to replace it . I don't want to spend a fortune so I'm going to try to find a good used one, will I need a new oil seal at the same time and if I do please can I have the part number for that too. Thanks

 

Most aftermarket solutions have consolidated the part numbers down to just a few. I have one from wittrans.com and it's doing a great job for me so far.

 

My search gives me Mercedes part# 210 250 07 02, that is for the SLK320.
