Default My 6-speed shifts great 1st - 2nd, afraid to change the fluid?

I bought my 2004 Crossfire Limited coupe a couple of years ago, and now hitting 100K, getting ready to do the tranny fluid and differential. After researching the fluid, realized I needed to get MS-9224 fluid. Seems to be some good choices out there.

However, after reading on some forum posts, apparently the NSG370 tranny has some common issues shifting from 1st to 2nd, though not sure how many will be affected by this. Mine shifts like butter going to 1st and 2nd, and now worried if I choose the wrong fluid it could change that. I have no service records from the previous owners of this car, so no idea if it still has the original fluid or it was changed at some point.

I want to change the fluid and not cause any issues with 1st-2nd gear change. Just checking to see from the members here who changed to what fluid and don't have a 1st-2nd gear issue?

I've changed differential once and 6spd twice, the last time I put Pennzoil synchromesh in the transmission I got slightly better results. My car has 52k and I've heard the more miles the better it shifts.DO NOT DRAIN FLUIDS UNTIL YOU CAN BREAK LOOSE THE FILL PLUGS !!! you will need a 14mm & 17MM hex socket 1/2" drive I used 5/16" ID diameter plastic tubing. stuck one end on the bottle and the other in the hole. Have you changed all the brake fluid , the clutch & slave share the same fluid as the brakes. Not too hard

14mm & 17mm

Thanks man for the info and advice, I will likely be doing what you outlined above. My car shifts great, I don't want to do anything to change that. I'm not too confident in lifting the car with jack and jack stands based on the few mounting points this car seems to have. Luckily there is a DIY shop not too far from me where I can pay by the hour, they will put it on a lift for me and I can do the work myself. Just prepping for the materials and tools I will need for the job.

I see it's recommended that the differential bolts are to be replaced for this job, but no the transmission bolts?

If your talking about the drain plug bolts I used the ones I had both differential and transmission
