Service costs for B service.
My car is due a B service next month and I was just wondering what is the average price to have this done in the U.K.?
The car only has 12,600 miles on it but it is a year since its last service which was done at around 9,000 miles.
Thanks.
Norrie.

Just spoke to the dealer about the B service and it turns out Chrysler has more or less halved the servicing costs.
I have been quoted £280 for a B service and because I will supply my own oil it will only be £200.
I'm happy with that.
The other thing I asked was about extending the warranty.
They can only extend it for a year which would cost £640.
I'm sure you used to be able to extend it for 3 or 5 years but not any more.

No sure but I think so.
I assumed it was because the dealer has moved out of town but the dealer informed me that Chrysler had cut all it's service costs.
£208 for a A service.
£280 for a B service.
£529 for the big service which includes fuel/air filters etc.
Worth looking into and phoning around if you are quoted much more.
I wasn't going to use the main dealer this year as I thought it was going to be around £500 but for that price I probably will.

On the subject of servicing . . .
I called Meridien Majestic in Bournemouth (Click here for their site: http://majestic.meridien.co.uk/) today - my Crossfire needs it's first service and there are a couple of other things I want looked at too (I'll list them in a moment to "share the knowledge").
After giving the receptionist my reg details, she tapped it in to her computer and it came up that my car was a Jeep Cherokee . . . hmm - let's get on the Chrysler Customer Service carousel again, huh?! Anyway, once that was ironed out . . . I was quoted £197 for the service which includes all consumables.
After noting the prices quoted on this thread, I reckon that's relatively cheap! If there's any advance on the prices, I'll let you know.
Here are the other problems I want looked at. If you have any experience of these, I'd like to hear about it, please!
1. Coolant light. Comes on intermittently (see my other post) although coolant is topped up. She also very nearly overheated on a trip "oop norf" over the Easter break. (I should point out here that the lass on the phone said that they will "just turn the light off" when I take it in - not really the answer I was looking for!)
2. Oil on the engine block. Seems to be coming from the head gasket - something I would expect to see on a 5+ year old car, not one which is just 1 year old.
3. Noisy AirCon. Occasionally hear a bit of a "graunch" when the AirCon is on - only noticed it recently with the warmer weather we've been having.
I'll let you know of the outcome to these after the service (18 Apr).
Regards,
PP

I had my B service done last week.
I was charged £180 and that was supplying my own oil.
I was charged £128 for the A service last year again supplying my own oil.
You can buy Mobil one from Costco for £47 for 2 tubs 8 litres.
I'm not to happy this time though as the lacquer is coming of one of my front wheels and they have told me they wont replace it under warranty as the wheel has been curbed.
My other 3 wheels have already been replaced under warranty for the same problem.
They have told me they have changed the policy regarding wheels that if they have been curbed at all they will not honor any warranty claims.
I have spoke to my lawyer and been told they cant change there policy halfway through a policy.
I have spoke to Chrysler customer services and been told to have the dealer take digital pics of the wheel for them to look at and I am still waiting the outcome.
The curb damage is nowhere near the lacquer damage so I don't see how that could have caused the problem.
By the way it's £500 for a new front wheel.
I can get one from the States for £180 but will get hammered with shipping and customs.

I bought my first crossfire, 53 blaze red coupe, at end of Feb, and did some research re insurance and service costs before signing on the dotted line (as thought I may have to get second job to pay for it all!). Was pleasantly surprised - dealer in Bishops Stortford (who I subsequently bought the car from) checked on his computer and gave a figure of £200 (didn't mention whether A, B or either).
p.s. love the car - am hooked!

Frankly, there is a lot of the "B" stuff you probably don't have to do. My dealer just did oil changes on my two "B" service visits, so far...
According to the service book the only real difference is the pollen filter gets changed.
The dealer said they used to get time to strip down and grease all the brakes etc which they don't get anymore.

I've had my car serviced at Majestic Meridien in Bournemouth. It was its first service (described as 12,500 miles service) and here's the breakdown:
Service £85.00
1 x Oil Filter ZH £6.00
1 x Windshield Washer (fluid) £2.50
1 x Service Lube £2.50
8 x Mobil One £79.60
1 x Drain Plug Gasket/Washer £0.35
1 x Forte Gas Treatment £9.95
1 x Manual Oil 5W20 Crossfire £8.63
Consumables (Courtesy Car) £12.00
Collision Waiver £12.00
Total £218.53
Tax £38.24
Grand Total £256.77
I queried the price as I was told it would be £197 including materials. It was then pointed out to me that it didn't include the charges for the courtesy car. Eh?! I thought courtesy car meant "courtesy" - I didn't realize that I had to pay for it!!!
Anyway, the chap decided that if I had been quoted £197 then I shouldn't have to pay the full price so the final price I paid was £212.24.
I enquired about the problems I was having with the car (see previous post). The coolant light was a radiator problem which the car had been recalled for - but I hadn't been informed.
However it's sorted now, as is the noisy aircon fan. The oil on the engine block was "due to the coolant which was leaking from the faulty radiator." EH?!
Of course, I questioned this and the story was changed to "it's been spilt there during refilling." I haven't refilled it. "Well, we've cleaned it off - let us know if any more appears." Hmmm . . . not a great answer - I'd like to know WHY it was there in the first place!
So, overall, I'm still not thrilled with Chrysler's Customer relations (even though I got some refund) so I doubt I'll be having another Chrysler - which is a real shame because the car is awesome - I'm just not prepared to put up with poor service.

I've had the car back to Chrysler to have the rust repaired under the tailgate this week.
They also agreed to replace the wheel after all.
The car is out of warranty in June so will probably take it elsewhere next year.

Just had an A service done on my 06 Coupe at Kings in Eastville in Bristol. Absolutely brilliant service with a 57 plate Dodge Kaliber for a courtesy car for free. Highly recommended, especially as they were £75 cheaper than another Chrysler garage in the locale.
They even hoovered and gave Colin (Colin the Crossfire) a wash.
Service spotted a couple of bulges on the inside wall of the rear nearside tyre. Ooh err, quick trip to Kwik Fit and 280 quid lighter for one tyre! Thank goodness I took out tyre insurance when I bought Colin! (2 years for £250).
