OEM Diffuser w/CF finish & finished prototype diffuser
These pictures are of the diffuser I am making. This is a final prototype and will be available within a week. First I want to give it a little high speed testing. (Did hit 85 today on the freeway with no negative effects and it was still attached when I got back).

The material used is Lexan (polycarbonate). I checked with my supplier and he said it is extremely durable and will take a direct hit by a hammer and not be damaged. He claims this material will not sag or warp and is very hard. I can attest to that trying to sand it (you need a grinder) It attaches to two existing points and a self tapping screw is used for four other locations. Mine is currently finished in matte black, but I am thinking to have the black CF applied to it.
As you can imagine polycarbonate is very expensive. A 4' X 8' sheet is around $350. Don't want to waste much of this. The final price to forum members will be determined by how many want them and how you want them finished (or not). The most it would cost is about $275. That would be finished in CF top AND bottom (I am just going to do the top and leading edge on mine). Just the top and leading edge should be less than $190. Unfinished should be around $100.
For those that like the OEM diffuser and want to add mine, I took the following picture.

There is a slight gap where the inside fin on each side does not completely mate up with the lower diffuser. I didn't think Cyril would like any extra holes in his new OEM piece.

Hmmm...that looks like more silver than black CF (referring to Cyril Baldwin's rear diffusers). Is it just the reflection?
Can you post a pic of it without using a flash? It's hard to judge it at this time.

Silver on the left black on the right. The black is the exact color of real black CF. I took the pictures so it would show up otherwise it doesn't really show.
This is a picture of the diffuser with no finish. They are black but appear grey in the picture.

Will this CF process work also in porous finish like the side panels of the center console?
