Default Foglight Access Panel: Part Number?

I had my dealer replace my foglights about a month ago and I noticed today that they did not put the access panel back on the inside of the wheel well... now water can get inside the bumper cover from the wheel well.

Does anybody know the official name or part number for the access cover? Please let me know. Thanks!

Hey guys.

I had the same issue. Looked up the part at the local dealership. They are trying to charge $24 for part number 5097958AA and the same for the left.

I am looking for other places to purchase it online at a better price. Does anyone know of a trusted place to get them. Any help would be appreciated.

ALSO...

When I looked further into this. I realized that one of my access doors was not only broken but it had broken the plastic it was connected to aswell. So even if I change the access door. I will still have a leak as the housing itself is cracked.

Does anyone know the part number for this part? Any solution, thoughts suggestions are welcome. I am in a bind.

Thanks,

FJP

I hear Needswings has them at the low price quoted above.

Thanks.

That's definitely a start. Needswings has a pair for 24.

If anyone has any other suggestions I am listening.

Still wondering about the plastic housing.

If you follow this link (CLICK) you can download all sorts of manuals and parts lists. Included is the parts list where I obtained the numbers above.
If you follow my link below "A collection of common...." you can find all sorts of info, take control and you will learn a lot from this site.

Thank you soo much. Much appreciated. I have taken a look at the links you attached.

Do you by any chance have a reccomendation for where I can purchase these, at the most competitive price?

Also with the "how to's" ..were you suggesting they contained instructions on how to replace the splash guards?

Thanks again,

FJP

Just bought one at local Mercedes dealer. Part #170-884-01-22 for Driver; 170-884-02-22 for Passenger. Not cheap - $22.79 each. If you need a pair, Needswings is the best deal. As an option, just use a couple of pieces of Gorilla tape to patch the hole. If you need to replace a bulb, replace the Gorilla tape after install. I'm putting Gorilla tape over the access door anyway, so I don't lose another one.

Thank you. I will definitely be going the route of the Gorilla Tape. I switched out my HID kit and had not yet solved the open bay problem. It appears I blew a fog HID kit yet again.

Concern: I wonder why a little water would fry the bulb or circuitry. Probably a question for DDM Tuning (the manufacturer of the kits). I wired everything perfectly and did a rather clean job with reinforced electrical tape.

Slightly disappointing to have to buy multiple kits and do multiple replacements. Quite a hassle as you all probably know when you keep the wheels on the car.

I'll have my first experience with HID when I install my set this weekend. We don't get much rain here in Las Vegas, but I'll bet that a hot bulb doesn't like cool rainwater, not to mention the water itself on a high-voltage ballast. Hope others with more experience on HIDs will weigh in on this.
