Billet grille problems
I just got my brushed finish grill today. A couple of problems. The edges of the brushed finish have a LOT of sharp edges. Looks like they never cleaned them up after they "brushed" them. The other thing is I don't see any way to mount the bottom of the grill. It came with the top brackets but no way to fasten the bottom tabs on the grill. Are there supposed to be brackets for the bottom and where do they fasten? I was hoping for a little better quality for $250.
Not sure if you bought the same grill as me. Mine came with two springs that pull the bottom of the grill in against the body. You have to drill two holes in the horn bracket for the springs to hook into.
The edges do dig into the plastic body.

Probably came from the same place..... Chris in Az. It is the only billet grill I have found . Mine didn't come with springs. The instructions showed everything but the Crossfire. Maybe they sent me the wrong hardware package. Stills sems like a cheap way to secure the bottom. I am not real happy with the ends digging into the plastic. It would be nice if the grill was a little narrower and rested against something else besides the plastic. I am going to call them tomorrow and see what I am missing.
You could look for some .030" teflon/nylon 'tape' and stick it to the bottom points that touch the bumper. That would stop any gauging, and any rubbing would be minimal.

Called them today and they are sending me the correct hardware package. I complained about the sharp edges on t every one of the horizontal bars and he said that is what happens with the brushed finish and that I could take sandpaper to remove them. I would think that is something they should have done! I guess I need to go to work on it now and make it so you won't cut yourself everytime you wash the car. Too bad they are the only ones making this grill. I think they could spend a little more time on the design and come up with a top quality grill worth the money. I guess the polished grill doesn't have the problems with the sharp edges.
This grill doesn't even touch the bottom of the bumper cover, it digs in on the sides. I guess it's not a big deal, but if you ever wanted to put the stock grill back on, it would look pretty bad. I guess I am going to try and modify it a little and see what happens.
I have the polished grill and it has the same sharp side edges.
Let me know if your grill has the ringing noise. The polished grill has sharp edges on the cross pieces that cause a resonating tone between 40 and 60 mph. I think the brushed grill edges are rounded and make less wind noise.

They told me that the polished grill didn't have the sharp edges like mine. When I say sharp, I mean that this is the leftover jagged edges from when they brushed it. I can't imagine that this grill would make any noise. One thing that I can say about it is that it is heavy and solid. The horizontal bars are at least 3/16 of inch thick and solid aluminum.
