Pooly the answer is yes. I added some LEDs to my glove box and cargo area by tapping into dome light wiring.

Pooly,

I tapped into that wiring inside the passenger a-pillar. You'll have to drop the dome light and figure out which wires to use, but that's no problem. Right?

It's very seldom I agree with 180 but he almost hit this one on the head with the term "Ricer".
I say almost because it should read Ricer wanna Be.
No ricer would run occaissional LED's under his Nissan to make it look like a first rate costly illumination job.
Give the "Ricer" his due

If you pull off your little brake light access panel in the cargo area (driver's side specifically), and locate the wires going to the cargo light, you can splice into those and that way whatever you're powering only gets power when the map lights/cargo light are on.

The easiest way to locate the wires is to stick your hand in the access panel and push the cargo light cover out (towards you, from the back) and then follow the wires back once you can see them.

P.S. Make sure you let the light cool down a bit because it WILL be hot. (Personal experience )

Oh please, really dude? So you choose GO, and I choose SHOW. Yet you call me a wanna be ricer based on one post about one idea?!. My car holds its own at every car show Ive entered due to my creative vision that is what it is because I do/create what comes naturally to me. Just like your car hauls a$$ because youre good with engine mods.

Im in no way referencing or trying to create "a costly illumination job" via occasionally illuminated LEDs. I simply want a few LEDs under the rocker panels to light up the ground under the car when entering and exiting!

Do you really want to toss labels onto folks that create something new and improved?. Remember that when you buy a carbon fiber hood, Stainless steel goodiesfor the engine compartment, eyebrow covers, A-pillar gauge pods..shall I go on?

I wouldnt call you a ricer for stripes, momo steering wheel or carbon fiber..I would instead applaud your visions.
Oh, BTW...I didnt ask for anyone's opinion; I asked for information

I mounted a couple of blue LED's on the bottom edge of the doors and wired them into the door switches - the same way that illuminated door sills are wired. See this thread (post #2) for the wiring instructions:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-roadster.html

It took me about 2 hours total to complete the wiring. I love the glow on the ground when you open the doors.

P.S. Don't pay any attention to the 'ricer' comments - do what appeals to you and fits your vision.

Cool Re: tapping into dome light

If memory serves, I believe that a forum member added LED lights under the rocker panel awhile back. I think they are an option on some MB cars and are called "puddle lights".
