Is there some reason you wont go to HID's? They are less expensive than SilverStars?
I couldn't see very well either and the HID's made a huge difference. Don't waste your time and money on anything else. You will be amazed at the difference.

Hey GG, you might want to consider going to an eye doctor and having yourself tested for the beginning of cataracts. I had the symptom of headlights and street lights having halos around them and the beginning of night blindness. After having the cataracts corrected, no more problems. I realize you're younger than I, but it happens. Just sayin ......

I have HID's in the lows and I thought I would put Silver Star Ultras in the highs. Well, I got the bulbs mixed up and ended up with an OEM bulb in one high and a Silver Star Ultra in the other, without noticing my mistake. They looked the same to me and even when I noticed an odd set of bulbs in the bench I could not tell which bulb was a Silver Star Ultra when they shone on my white garage wall.
The high beam lights looked like egg yolks sitting above the white of the low (3500k) HID's.
I will try Osram 65W Rallyes in the highs when I can be bothered to correct my mistake.

DDMtuning.com has high quality HID's. (I have purchased 3 sets from them)
$50 for 2 bulbs (choice of color), and two ballasts.
Though I just ordered a 55w slim ballast kit and it took almost 3 weeks to get to me (shipped CHINA post -___- )
Not sure if the 35w ones ship from their store (California), or from China, but it's a great product (and inexpensive), provided you don't mind waiting for shipping!
I would recommend 5000k bulbs for 35w, and 6000k for 55w (I have 6000k and they're extremely bright white).
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Regards,
Eric Henderson

Since a few of you have already played the HID conversion game.. you get what you pay for or? Totally new to them so any advice that doesn't require a new bank note would be appriciated.

Sounds awfully familiar to me. I lost an eye about 18 months ago, and night driving is a challenge. The Crossfire's OEM dims were poor, in my opinion, and I had to let my wife do most of the night driving when we traveled in it. She didn't consider the lights to be adequate either. I just finished a trip to from northern Mississippi to Tampa and back, on a set of $35 HID lights, and it was a joy!
For the difference, I'll replace them monthly if necessary.
It's reversible if you don't like them, but you will. I suspect that if you buy a set for $300 you'll be impressed and never regret it. If you buy a set for $35, you'll feel the same, but have nearly enough money saved for one new tire.

My verdict is that they are a waste of money, but it's your money. If you read about them on this forum the consensus is that they do not last long.

I tried a sylverstar bulb years ago when they first came out. The application was 9004 bulb on a 95 Intrepid, known for it's weak light projection. Being skeptic, I replaced 1 bulb for comparaison, couldn't tell the difference from the oem ones.
HID's where it's at!

go on line order the yellow blue blockers either clip on or if you don't ware glasses just get some you like they work and are great for night driving. jim
I put 35w slim line 5000k HID's on the Aero and on my F250..... great improvement... especially for the truck.... I have been driving it for 17 years and night driving was getting worrisome....no issues now..
