Hey, I would be glad to help you, but it looks like you are a long way from me. If that is not the case send me a PM and we can see about getting together.

Hey Dave, I have the "lip" and my Crossfire is black also, what Duplicolor would you recommend? Right now my lip is still in the box, but thanx to you and Mrmiata, when I get to it seems most of the unknowns will be worked thru...

It seems to fit pretty well. Cutting the "V" in the center of the lip lets it conform to the bumper better. The 3M tape keeps it tight to the bumper. I have 4 screws in the bottom front and 2 on each end of the lip. I'll try to take some better pics under the bumper to see placement of screws, etc. and post them later.

I got the "Lip" for mine on EBAY. Go back and read ALL the post on this subject. It will give you the P/N, Supplier, Etc. There are pics showing the install in the post and discusses the " V" notch cut in the Lip to help it conform to the XF bumper.

Alright . Than you ! Yeah I see it now . I really can't wait to order it and install it my XF ! Do you have to actually have to do any modification in order to fit this lip ?

No mods to do except to cut a " V" notch in the lip so the lip can move back on each side to conform to the shape of the XF. Basically, there is a bottom piece on the lip that is about 18-20 inches long, find the center, cut the "V" , about an inch or so on either side you will put a self tap black body screw. Besure to angle the screws so they go into the bottom of the bumper and not the front of the bumper. You don't want them to show if you remove the lip later. I used black license plate screws. You will want to place another screw about an 1-2 inches from each end of that center piece. That will give you 4 screws in that flat piece of the lip. Now you will need to pull the ends around the body. I lined mine up to the body indention( see pics in previous post) that ends at the wheel well. Pay attention to the angle of the ends of the lip, I made mine square to the ground and installed two more screws on each side. Remove the whole lip and clean with 91% alcohol, also clean the bumper with the alcohol. I would clean it several times with fresh cloth and alcohol. Put at least three short pieces ( 6inches long) on each side of the lip, at the top edge ( do not remove red backing yet) check the fit as you go, once you have the fit you want remove the backing from the tape closest to the center of the lip. Push the lip to the bumper making sure to lineup the body line. Remove the next piece of backing and line up the body line, push lip to bumper, now remove the last piece of red backing. This piece of the 3M tape probably wraps around the turn of the bumper to the wheel well. Repeat the process on the other side. Should at this point be finished or close to it. Hope this helps you do the job. Read several times to make sure it makes sense to you. If you have any questions, I'll be glad to help if I can.

Have you noticed a reduction in the window down "buffeting" effect with the front lip? Or is it just my imagination?

And when you put those G-max tires on let us know how you like or dislike them, they are on the books for my next tire change..

Gonna jump on the bandwagon and do this. Thanks for posting MrMiata

Dtinker, how hard was it to swap out your grill. I plan on ordering the same one. On my Caliber, I had to remove the whole front clip to get at it. I'm hoping it's much easier on the XF.

Once painted this will look great!

Grill change was probably 45min and most of that was getting ready to do the job. Just a few screws and some plastic push fasteners. I when back and opened a few hole up to move the grill in and out a bit, but it was easy.

Did honda's get popular or should I hit him up for a rebate check! LOL. Wonder how many have been for our cars.. I've kinda enjoyed being "unique" for now..

I would enjoy getting a rebate, I had to pay $40 not $5.00. It looks pretty good.

If it wasn't for that $5 mis-hap on the auction.. we wouldn't even be having this discussion.. LOL. Heck I'd have paid the $40 if I'd "known" it was capable of fitting up..

The way I see it .. it was a "win" for every one thinking about a lip for their cars! At least it gives an option other than a long search for a Cupra style or spend $300 plus for an SRT bumber and get it painted.

I just want someone to buy the style with the open ducts..and post up some pics!

You are correct about the "LIP" ,I think it looks good and at $40 vwas a great bargin. If I had seen one that had ducts in it I would probably bought it. I like this one now, it on ,fits good, looks good. and did not break the bank. I have seen many items that i thought could be made to fit but was not much of a fan for the look. This looks pretty cool. Still don't know if I will paint it or not. I'm glad I did not fab a bracket. I would rather it come off than tear the rest of the bumper .
