Default Brake light

Hey recently my crossfire is having issue with its break light and rear wing. Break light seems to stay on at all time when the car is on. I have been trying to resolve this issue but can’t find any videos or anyone that knows about the car. I live in Georgia so if any one knows please let me know I’ll appreciate it. Also my rear spiller goes up when I hit 60 miles an hour but no longer goes down or up even with the manual buttons. Not sure why… it just suck in the up position for the moment.

The brake light is most likely the brake light switch especially if you have an automatic transmission. It is very easy to install, I recommend you get the genuine Mercedes part.

The spoiler issue, I have no idea on that one sorry. Best to search the threads. Since it stays up, you can buy the entire assembly from eBay and replace it easily assuming it is not the switch.

What type Crossfire do you own? The brake circuit is different in the SRT6 compared to a Limited or Base and different again if you have a manual transmission vice a automatic.
Correcting the brake light may just correct your spoiler problem. The brake light switch is located above your left knee when setting in the drivers seat if you have a automatic transmission. You must remove the panel to access.

I went ahead and replaced the brake light switch and it worked and fix my brake light issue. I have a 2004 base crossfire automatic transmission. I still am having that issue with that spoiler. I button seems to control the wing seems to have no electricity running though it as the light on the bottom is not even lighting up as before. The car brought it up automatically after reaching a certain speed but now won’t come down. I am trying to read to this what would be the problem. FYI recently the battery went flat and took it to local autozone and they recharged the battery and said it was still good. Just wanted to mention this to see if it could relate to the spoiler as I started having problem with it shortly after that incident.

Glad you got the brake light switch changed and it worked, I have had to change mine more than I would like to admit.

Crossfire spoilers will tell you when your battery is bad by raising up. Definitely ignore Autozone and buy a new battery from Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart etc. Your spoiler should act normal afterwards. These cars are very picky with batteries.

Recently had the ESP/BAS light stay on, even after disconnecting battery and the full right, full left, and center drill.
Having read multiple post about the ESP/BAS light on and the brake light switch connection, I checked to see if my brake lights were working... NOPE! No Brake Lights!
So, I checked Inside panel Fuse 2 - it was OK.
Then, I went through the horror of dropping the lower instrument panel (haven't done that since the Sticky Key Fix).
Got that switch out and tested it: No continuity pushed in or out = Dead Switch

So, I need a new brake light switch for a 2004 6 speed .
The problem is that the switch in my hands has tw2004 6 speedo (2) terminals and the replacements I've found (Standard Motor Products #
SLS384)
show 6 or 4 terminals in their photos.

The following numbers are on the switch in my hand:
CR02 on one side
PA66-GF30 on the other
03 6101 00 on the back flat

If any of you XF gurus are out there, please give an old man some guidance.
Pizza Guy has provided a lot of good tech info on this subject (and others).

Last ditch will be hitting parts stores and/or MB Dealer to get a match.

Thanks in advance,

The Mercedes part number for the brake light switch for a manual transmission should be 0015450109. Compare the pics online and make sure it matches what you have in your hand

0015450109 is a 4 pin switch.
Perhaps this switch might work if the plug fits the two pin socket, leaving the two round pins unconnected?
Guess I'm off to the shops and see if it looks right.
Thanks for the quick response with the part number.
I'll let y'all know if/when it works or not.

Sure go and buys part that probably will not work, if you are very lucky the may give you your money back, but not likely.
Can you not find the correctly numbered part?
Can’t you take it apart and fix it.

The pins in the 0015450109 are round, whereas the pins on my original are flat,
So I went to the local Pensacola MB dealer and had excellent service.
They found the matching switch and I ordered it. for $25.88.
It will be in 9b Wednesday.
MB Part Number 006-545-10-14-64
I'll let y'all know the outcome.

That is a clutch pedal pressure switch (ignition lock switch) not a brake light switch when I search for it on Google.

Can you say "Delta Sierra"?
The FIRST switch I pulled turned out to be the CLUTCH pressure switch.
I learned that after looking up MB Part Number 006-545-10-14-64.
So I went back under the dash and found the REAL STOP SWITCH!
Yep Part Number 0015450109 was correct as RONMAN said
The only good news was that the
CLUTCH pressure switch was faulty, so not a total loss of time and $.
Parts now on order.

Relearned Lesson: Take your time, work effectively, and if things don't seem right - CHECK AGAIN.
(BTW I'm working under the dash by feel - Damned cataracts)

DUH!

Chooch,
Glad you are getting it sorted out. There are several CF owners in the area, and more than one has expressed interest in meeting up, sometime. PM me, if interested, and we'll get a thread going.
