Default crossfire owners rude???

everyone on this forum is great. good ideas great conversation one of the best forums on the net! but in person when i see someone else with a cross fire its like they blow me off. i try to give thumbs up or say nice car but they seem like such an a$$. i wonder why this is. or is it just me? i know im a perfect stranger and dont know them from adam but we have something in common we own one of the best cars ever. and i dont run into a crossfire everyday i get excited to see another crossfire on the street. but i get blown off...maybe an srt owner i would understand. i blow people off in any other car. mustangs chargers even porches. but i think we should stick together as a crossfire congregation. the crossfire is like the little engine that could better yet a diamond in the dirt. the most under rated and underestimated car. we need recognition and aftermarket parts. but that's a different subject. bottom line can we all just be polite to our crossfire brotherin?

What area are you from? That could make a difference too. Around here most people have there head up there *** and wouldn't acknowledge you if you ran them over. I try to wave or even stop and talk if possible.

I have encountered just the opposite. I have seen a few Crossfires while driving in mine and got a friendly wave back. I have also met 19 other Crossfire owners this past summer at the Woodward Dream cruise in Michigan and they were all terrific people. Then me and FP planned a couple of Chicagoland meets for local Crossfire owners around here and have met even more cool people.
It has been a great experience meeting other owners all summer and I hope to meet many more. I would love to go to the upcoming meet at the "Tail of the Dragon" on Nov. 11 but it is a long hall from Chicago. There are gonna be 38 Crossfires there. Totally Awesome !!

I have posted some pics from the first Chicagoland meet...

I noticed the opposite myself, here in LA crossfire owners are cool and friendly though I do find female crossfire drivers to be a little stuck up when you smile or wave at them.

I do get pissed that I can't get the car up to speed due to traffic congestion. Everyone is in my F'ing way!

I'm going to have to go with Pale on this one. The only nice Xfire owners I get to speak with are all of you. I have found only one nice crossfire owner, and an srt owner at that, but only met her once. Everyone else just ignores me and my crossfire, whether it be a smile, nod, wave, thumbs up, anything. Glad somebody asked the question. Which really surprises me because there aren't really any crossfires here, so its a real treat to actually see one.

This question has sort of been addressed before, but in a different venue.

How many people get a response when they wave at other Crossfire owners?

I try to talk to everybody I see in a parking lot driving a Crossfire. I just ask them if they know about the forum, and if not, I politely tell them they should check it out. Or I leave a note on a car when there is nobody around.
But only once out of a 1/2 dozen times have I met someone who knew about it, and belonged to it.
When you think about it, 11k+ forum members, is only a fraction of the total number of Crossfires out there, and probably to most Crossfire owners, it's just a means of transportation and not much else. After all, not everybody is a "car enthusiast" like most of us are. But I'd be willing to bet, thanks to the Crossfire some have become one.

Los Angeles I'm guessing is a little different and by far does not proportionally represent the forum population's attitude; I've been rudely cut off by one. Although... maybe it does... anyone here want to fess up? (the 405 to 710 interchange nice wednesday afternoon 3-ish last week).

Xfire owners in person are rude I would have to say.

I'm from VA and work in the DC area...and let me tell you, I too get excited when I see another xfire...but my hopes only go down when I get the cold shoulder from them. I mean even a nod would be cool with me.
What is up with thattt.

Xfire's what's going on?!??!?!!

people have got things to do, they're not driving crossfires to socialize with others.

Agreed, for a lot of people around Michigan its just a nice piece to be seen in, not your average mean of transportation but being used as such. And yes, most of them are rude and don't even give a fellow XF driver a look over. In fact, I think they maybe bothered by the fact that you're driving the same car. The XF does have that exclusivity factor. If they wanted to socialize they would be a lot more people on the forum and going to GTGs. Sport Car enthusiast are a different breed, and will ask about the car, unfortunately there aren't that many around here, most people in Michigan are into the classics, which is fine with me.

well i hate to say it but i'm glad im n ot the only one getting ignored. i mean i just want a thumbs up i don't wanna take um out on a date. i just figured they wanna live up to the stereo type of being an a$$ in a sports car in los angeles. that's all fine and dandy but lets leave that up to the lambo and ferrari owners crossfire owners should stick together. just thought it would be worth a thread. i mean i don't have any loss of sleep over it.

I personally have had a pretty good experience with Crossfire owners at least waving back or smiling. When I went to the medium sized town to visit my parents... there was one Crossfire there that made a right hand turn onto the street where I was sitting at the light... he had to see me and I waved with a big smile... nothing but blank stare... I think he was really focusing on the road.

I can say at least one thing for being here in colorado with the crossfire. Everyone else is super friendly. All the corvettes wave, all the crotch rockets drool, the hot rodders love it when I come to the rallys, and the harley riders always give thumbs up. About the only group that doesn't give the crossfire much respect are the, pardon the phrase here, "grinders". I have taken the time to try and get to know as many of the kids around here as I can, so that they understand that just because its nice car and looks expensive that the owners are down to earth and enjoy their cars as much as they do. Works out well, just wish we had a few more xfires here.

Only one person actually waved back. We were going in same direction, different lanes. Others, when I look over to them (I know they see me), won't look directly at me. ::shrug:: who knows.

Being busy in their daily lives in one thing, but when you see another XF driver, that's different. It's fun to be acknowledged and acknowledge back. They are not ordinary cars. The other driver must know this. LOL. It's hard to believe that anyone who buys one of these just looks at it as another piece of transportation. After all, the looks are going to be the first consideration...or maybe not ::shrug again::

Just my 2.3457 cents.

I agree that most XF owners are not very friendly when driving. We know of one person (Chrysler employee) who leased one for his son because the monthly payment including insurance was around $250.00. My point here is there are a large amount of XFs that are not owned but "rented". Give it 5 years or so when these cars are turned in and sold. They will be "fixer-uppers" having many miles and neglected bodies. Then we will have our "sweet revenge" People want what they can't have. A car is a car, unless it is in excellent shape, unusual or limited production or it's not for sale at any price. I think we all feel that way. We won't sell our cars unless we find ourselves living in them (maybe not even then) or if someone offers a mega huge amount of money- I guess I could sell our then, but now I'm stuck trying to come up with what figure would get me to sell it That really puts a price on your loyality, hum, I could be bought for a million, there would be a lot of tears but I'd do it. But for say $100,000, no not interested, we like the car too much for that. $500,000 - oh ouch I don't know??? Don't ask my husband the $500,000 question!!
