keep fightin' DJ.....keep in mind that fire is hot enough to make steam out of your sprinkler system...that is why they use dry chemicals...or large amount water all at once...choke out the oxygen.....I'd be right there with you though....keep her good and wet...
I had just the opposite, huge amount of water flash flooded my back yard and took some the landscaping with it...my car trailer was flooded, full of mud...tree limbs stuck under it...it was in it's path...you could have used all this water....won't quit raining here....

Glad you came through OK DJ.

Been a true shame to lose a fine home and possesions to such a catastrope.

Good to hear you made it through ok. Not sure if the house I lived in down in Hereford is still standing. I was always paranoid about a wildfire with all the dry grass and other vegetation. I remember smelling a lot of smoke a couple of years ago and it turned out to be approximately 25 illegal aliens camping out in the wash about 100 yard from my house! Too close for comfort. They could have set the whole town on fire.

Tighed,
I'm very pleased to hear that you and your family are okay from this awful and frightful experience. Let's hope that it never comes around again. I'm just so thoroughly impressed by the resources that come to bear when something like this happens. The photo and your description of the response makes one shudder.

I hope the town recovers quickly. Everyone will be in my thoughts!

Just saw this thread DJ...Hot,hot,hot.
Thought I would see FP's gallery here..LOL

On a more serious note I'm happy you were spared any loss.
Not sure what I would do in that situation but my instinct would be to ride it out and hope I could still escape if I had to.
