Ray, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your father. Thank you for sharing some of the events of his life with us. He answered the call and served the Lord and his family well. You, Susan and the family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. If he was anything like you, he was surely a great man.

Ray, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Count your blessings for the wonderful years you had with your father. I lost my father when I was 5.5 y.o. and my grandfather (which I was named after) was long past when I was born.

Lost my dad to cancer 20 years ago in his 60's. He was a decorated Lt. commander in the Navy during WWII. He lost a lot of great buddies due to the war. He didn't really want to talk about it. Then a year and a half ago, I lost my 42 year old wife to the same thing. She was a huge SRT-6 fan. I miss both of them very much. I know EXACTLY what you're going through. My only solace is that they are both in a bettter place. Oddly enough, cancer didn't run in my family nor hers. Time heals and gives you perspective. I was the recipient of many thoughts and prayers. My same go out to you and your family.

My dad slipped into eternity in 1996 at the age of 83. I was only 36 at the time.

I still miss him, even tho it's been 16 years now.

It took me almost a month to even START to get back to normal... don't rush it, my friend.
The more you hurt over it, the more his life meant. And that is a good, good thing.

Roberta & I wish to express our sorrow for your loss. Losing a loved one is always an event that we have to deal with in our own special way. This "closure of life" will be replaced with fond memories that fill your heart with ever-lasting love for your personal loss.
