I'm with you, this isn't rocket science.

As Franc mentioned, we all voted on retaining the forum. The majority said "keep it" -- even those that didn't use it. When you don't have a sewer, the **** backs up everywhere (as it is now).

Popular voted be damned, the forum was axed, and many members alienated because of it. Has anyone heard from radmanly lately?

To simplify the political forum into an "Obama roast" is a gross insult to the many great breakthroughs that were had in the past in that sub-forum. Road projects, gas prices, foreign issues, happenings in the military -- those were all covered in that large umbrella of politics.

I'd love to have a chat with my Crossfire buds about Syria, and get their take on it. But I can't, because the mods will view that as "political" and delete the thread.

Yes, the community suffers "lack of depth" as a result.

 

I know there is a lot hurt, pain & denial leftover from last November for many here....

But... Let’s stick to the basic principles of free enterprise - the folks that purchased this website and forum are now the legitimate owners... It was their money, not yours.. not mine...

And... They have right to require their employees to run their business in a way that best promotes their brand and image....

Every single business owner in America has a right to post a sign that states:

"No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service"...

So put your shoes on, throw on a shirt and enjoy the service!!!

 

Interesting how you checked 180's thread, seeing as it no longer shows up in my subscribed threads OR in his thread history. See attachment.

Perhaps it's archived where only mods can see it?

 

Lack of depth?

We are stuck viewing everything pretty much thru the lens of an obsolete two seater designed in the late 90's that has no corporate support or successor. Most who original bought the Crossfire did so when it was an exciting new entry and half of those guys have moved on.

The only interesting discussions are in one Sub forum about other cars and one can get that subject elswhere. That and about once a week a curiously pointless but entertaining run of short quips in the Chat box.

I see a newbie name or two most everyday but the daily log on counts seldom exceed more tha 320. Suggesting this Forum loses as many as it gains. Not exactly a growth market.

 

I've noticed a drop in your post-frequency as well, LOL. Good to see you post again.

I do find it rather interesting that the biggest critics of the political forum only stroke the keyboard when politically-tinged threads pop up. When everyone is discussing filters for the 1,000th time, it's a lurk-fest.

It's like the heroin addict that really hates their addiction, but can't pass up a good sharp.

That being said, Brian -- with you being a forum veteran as well, you'd have to agree that the forum is much less spicy these days. Aside from Woody and Rudy, innovations are at a trickle.

Yes, it's their business decision and all that jazz, but who said all business decisions have to be smart?

 

This has nothing to do with last November. But censorship over tangental references to political subjects.

That said, you might want to be careful about the political content of your post here.

Personaly, I don't really wantpolitical threads here again. That wel lis poisoned and there are plenty of places elswhere. But come on,a casual reference here and there?
The discussion inthat threadbarely touched politics. And only breigly. It focused primarily on the cvompanies involved with our little car.

Mods can delete anything. They should do so when it gets out of hand. And onthat subject, it never did.

 

Yes, the forum is following the same "end of product lifecycle" path as other products that are no longer in manufacture....

Yet, I still enjoy reading the excitement of the newbees... and occasionally following the "same-ol-efforts" to "mod" this or "do" that..

Maybe someday they'll be a successful "turbo kit" or -40 deg "Intercooler" mod... ya never know...

But please don't think for a moment because I no longer post like I did when I was modding - that I don't frequent and still enjoy this forum....

I still answer many, many a PM from the newbees.....

Same here, as shown in my screen shot I provided... I even performed a search for "Connecticut" and "gun control" just to cover all the bases, and nothing. There was another much smaller thread that he made one post in, but that entire thread only had 15 replies and I wasn't involved in it. Ironically, that thread remains. Apparently, zero tolerance isn't really zero tolerance.

The thread 180 created is gone. Vanished. Poof. Censored.

The forum gets it at this point. We can go back to talking about intakes, and moaning about being an orphan.
