Lesson learned about Lifetime Maxcare Wrap warranty
Let me start by saying that I am an idiot. I purchased the Lifetime Maxcare Wrap warranty back in 2007. I was told at the time that, in order to keep the warranty valid, I would have to have the car inspected every 5 years. So in 2012, I had the inspection done. Fast forward to 2017 when I looked up information on the Maxcare Wrap and saw nothing about a required inspection. Turns out that I was only half right. The wrap doesn't require inspection, but the warranty that it wraps around does. According to the dealership in whose waiting room I am sitting, my warranty was cancelled in April. The service manager is on the phone right now trying to get clarification. The wrap SHOULD still be valid for everything except those items covered by the powertrain warranty. I suppose that I should feel fortunate that the warranty did pay for a relay control module, crank position sensor, front wheel bearings, and two tows to the dealerships where those repairs were made. Lesson learned the hard way. When in doubt, call someone and don't believe everything you see online.
