What a WEEK. Went to see my granddaughter in Chicago last weekend (she graduated from Navy Basic Training last Thursday, will be Quartermaster). Came home feeling a bit sick - turned into full blown fever/congestion/sore throat/etc. I'm turning the corner now, but what a week.

Doc said it was "a form of flu or a really bad cold". Not COVID. But honestly, I'd rather have COVID again, I had that in late 2021 and it was a breeze compared to what ever virus I had this time.
I won't be leaving the house for another day or two but I'm on the mend. For a while there, the fever just kept me so incoherent, the boss asked me to "take the rest of the week off, your emails are too confusing to read". I work in a home office, sometimes, it's hard to 'let go' and take time off.

hang in there it will go away,, and then come back again, then go away i hope. on Oct. 16 got COVID (first time ) on Oct. 29 tested neg,, on Nov. 4 tested pos again, on Nov.6 neg again though all was good then got cold,flu or something now Nov. 20 still have it and it has been the way you said ,,,head cold ,chest cold and everything in between , i think the shut down caused us to lose our immunity, I as you, have not ever had a cold, flu or whatever it is like this get well soon and stay well. jim
