Re: Dang Cupholder
My car didn't come with one kinda glad after hearing all these comments but it still pisses me off. The worst part is when you go and get fast food and you dont have a place to put your drink and there drink holders are terrible and your drink still spills. But the bin is good for my cell phone fits perfect even have room for a pack of gum.
Re: Dang Cupholder, Found a Use for it!
Well on my last trip with my wife we coulld not find anyplace to keep our cell phones except in the ash tray. (Only one would fit.)
At Wal-Mart today I found an "Icup 100BLK" for $2.66. It is made of a hard foam and can hold two cell phones, two pencils, and coins. It is black and a perfect fit for the Crossfire's "so called" cup holder. See attached Pictures. (I have a 6-speed manual shift and it is no problem when shifting.) So now when I need it, I can just pop out the Icup, put it in the cup holder and we are ready to go!
Also, today I installed the 220uF 100V non-polarized Capacitors on each of my midrange speaker "red" wires. Sound is GREAT. I now have bass set at +3 with bass actualling comming from the rear speakers and the midrange sounding great and clear. Thank you "pelked1 for the idea and instructions.

Re: Dang Cupholder
I just bought the 2 cup holder from WalMart for 5 bucks, that slides between the passenger seat and the console. went out last night, does not interfere with my wife's space, held 2 extra large cups of coffee, and was strong enough to hold just fine. It's a winner. Someone else on this forum had mentioned it before and I remembered that when I was at WalMart yesterday. Done deal.
BTW, I just installed the wood dash kit, American Rosewood from MOMO design and I think it looks very, very nice and I am very happy with it. I have the black interior and with the darker reddish wood design it, to me, is very elegant and solid looking, surrounded by the silver edging. I'll post pics as soon as it really starts warming up around here. Mark

I found the fold down cup holder, that adjust to different dia. cups. Mounts to side of console on riders side where the side of the riders knee would rest are a little below . the holder folds flat when not in use. Someone on forum had posted this holder . I found it at Bass pro shop in boating acc. 6.99 + tax

Re: Dang Cupholder
It almost takes two hands to get minr back down. Alot of pressure at the bottom on the front, and a pretty firm push on top of that. Definately one of the most annoying things on this car.
Seriously, we replaced ours with a bin and aren't looking back. We were just leaving the cuphold in the open position and bought a "pencil holder" (shiny or black availability) at Walmart before we switched to the bin.
Oh, the cup holder is also where I like to rest my arm on longer trips. I place a firm futon pillow on the center console. We switched to the Corvette cup holder and I now have the best of both worlds.

Re: Dang Cupholder
Well, my cupholder has an interesting defect: it won't go back down!!! Started today - I searched here for instructions on how to remove that assembly (so that I could modify it internally to STAY DOWN) but can't find anything.
Anyone know (and I know someone does) how to remove the whole cupholder assembly from the console?

Re: Dang Cupholder
I still dont' get it. I dont understand just what I am removing from around the shift and HOW to do it.
The service manual just isn't clear - even the pictures aren't clear.
If I could get the trim out from around the shift, I'd be home free - the rest is rather easy and very understandable, or so it seems at this point.
