Wrapping my headliner in carbon fiber next week
I think it turned out VERY well and the pictures do not nearly do it justice, especially crappy cell phone pictures...
I went ahead and sourced black SLK visors so they would look right and took care of the warning stickers on them to tone them down. I will slowly begin doing all the trim into the rear hatch, but the sail panels I think will need to be painted as multiple conpound curves get tricky when laying and stretching this stuff.
It really makes the spine stick out, looks awesome. What do you think?

Nice work and very sharp looking.
Did you get your cf fabric from NeffyWrap.com? What size piece did you order to do your healiner?

Thanks!
I did not order neffy wrap, I ordered from the ebay seller referenced above, but it has been a while and I do not think that particular link works, but you can search ebay for the stuff and find anything you want.
I bought a large piece so I could do multiple parts on the car, but if you are purchasing just to do the headliner, keep in mind the pillars and visors will look silly. Also, a good friend of mine, who does custom headliners for a living spent almost 2 hours stretching and relaying to make this look the way it does, so its definitely not an easy task, neither is removal or reinstallation
Good luck!

The link is broken. Did you use cf fabric or di-noc?
My headliner completely fell down so I just need to remove all of whats left of the foam left behind. I was thinking of using sandpaper and lots of elbow grease.
How did you remove and prep yours?

I stripped the headliner fabric and literally rubbed, with my bear hands, until all the adhesive flaked off. Since the glue in mine was 8+ years old and already failing, it was relatively easy to get it all off. We then hit it very well with compressed air to ensure all the residue was gone. Since we did it at a friends shop we used his compressed air adhesive gun with 3m industrial adhesive, so mine is never coming down again

Any recomended links (besides the above) to read up on or you tube videos to watch for pointers before I start? 3.5 yards of charcoal CF farbic showed up today from E92-Lighting. Any problems you guys have heard of using 3M super 77 spray adhesive?

You can take out the liner yourself, and probably prep it yourself, but unless you have experience, I do not recommend wrapping it yourself because of the compound, deep curves up by the visors, the material will want to pull away. My friend does 10-15 headliners a month at his shop and it took him over an hour to do mine. I have wrapped several parts and prefer to do things on the car myself, but this was one of those times where it just makes sense to have it done right the first time because IIRC the fiber board headliner itself is north of $500 to replace.
The 77 will work just fine.
Good luck, it looks AMAZING when it is done. Keep in mind you will need new visors too, the light gray looks silly IMO against the CF, I used black SLK32 visors in mine...

Took Boiler's advice, $100 in labor later and a very impressive job from a San Antonio local shop Chuck's Tops off of 35. I got it home and got a small scratch down it already (can really see with the high def camera and flash) but not that visable in the car. I am questioning the durability of this cloth on surfaces that have regular contact like on dash or console....It is dirty and needs to be wiped down.
I did the A pillars and the not so proud of my sun visors that are going to have to work until I can score some black ones. A pillars were literally 5 minutes a piece.
Total price not inlcuding gas mileage to headliner shop is $178.00 with left over CF fabric. I really like the end result and highly recomend this if you have to get your headliner replaced anywyas.

thanks! I don't know about road noise yet.... I am still waiting on lug bolts from Discount and SS brake lines. I will let you guys know what I think. I left the factory insulation between the headliner board and metal roof. I don't think it will effect it much.
I pulled it out and then back in through the passenger door. I tilted the seat forward and dropped the front down as low as it would go, leaving the back as high as it would go. I had to slightly flex the rear mounting tab (it gets covered by the rear plastic panel) to push it in the door opening towards the very end.
Once I got it in I aligned the rear mounted tabs and holes, then screwed the sun visors in a little to hold it in place while making sure the side and rear edges align and press into the slots in the rubber gaskets.
After it was aligned and pressed into place I put the plastic retainers into the rear mounting tabs and finished tightening the visors.
Hope this helps?

Looks great, Jesse, now start saving for those SLK visors
They were in very few of the cars and from what I saw, if you can get a pair for anywhere near $100, jump on it...
