Default Passenger Seat Height Adjustment?

Has anyone tried to modify the passenger side seat so that it sits higher? My wife finds it virtually impossible to get out of the Crossfire without a "boost" from me. What about installing the power seat adjustment/mechanicism from the driver-side to the passenger side? Is this part available?

I don't know about the SLK320s but the SLK32 has up and down adjustments for the passenger side. They're passenger seats has all of the movents as the driver seat.

OK....that's a start. What is the difference between an SLK 320 and an SLK 32? Would anyone know if the seat mechanisms/attachment holes are the same on the Crossfires?

My lady has the same compliant, the seat is way to low for her comfort level.

I keep a throw pillow in the trunk, which she'll sit on, so her eyes can clear the dash (she's small but carries a big punch)...lol...

I'm wondering if you just replaced the passenger seat, with a Driver seat, would that just work (plug and play)...???

Also wondering if the existing rails can be jury rigged and maybe raised (although this would be a permanent fix, but reversable)...

The seats in a SLK320 are the same type as in a Limited. Both electric. Unfortunately drivers and passengers are not interchangeable, The controls would be on the inboard side and and the inboard side is fabric not leather.

Wonder what a seat costs, and if you can get the same color combinations...

I cut two 2x4's the same length as the seat tracks and painted them black, drilled holes up through the 2x4's to accept the seat tracks, then bolted the 2x4's to the floor using the orig. holes in the floor.Work's fine, just the right height.

Interesting solution...not much adjustability, nor is it easy...but a solution!

Smokin' Red, Thx for the valuable and obviously inexpensive fix to the height adjustment situation. Did you have to use longer bolts to compensate for the wood thickness? Do the bolts unscrew from the underside of the car or inside?

Yes you have to use longer bolts to compensate for the 2x4. The bolts come out from on top of the seat tracks, They bolt into the floor, the nuts are welded in the floor, the bolts are, i think are 10mm allen head bolts. Good Luck

Any reason why the 2x4 method would mess up airbag sensors or anything? I don't want to put my passenger in harms way.

Same problem, find passenger seat too low. Are the leather colors the same in the UK? Could a drivers seat from a right hand drive, if it exists, be ordered and installed over here? Then the controls would be on the RH side of the seat.

No problem with airbag sensors that I can see.

And I would think a European driver's seat would be just the ticket - but talk about a hard item to find!

And E X P E N S I V E !

Looking for a solution that allows adjustability. Could the lift from the driver's side be adapted to the passenger seat? The switches seem to be the same for both seats

I have the same issue with my 05 roadster. Does the SLK roadster have a passenger power seat? If so, will the lower seat frame track assembly bolt up to the Crossfire seat? The switches are on the side of the seat base with all the wiring from the factory and appears that this was an option in 05. Is there anything available from MB or Mopar?? blhoov11@verizon.net 05 roadster

I have an 02 MERCEDES SLK320 SLK230 BOTTOM SEAT RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE OEM assembly that I purchased off of ebay for $139. Red Dog gave me the heads up on this part. It is too hot here to get this installed at this time. Once it is installed I will provide an update.

If your passenger is too short to see out of the window while using the seat belts, you can always make this cheap solution for less than $5.
It is portable as well.
