When you lock that door with the key do all the other locks operate?
I hear the hiss coming from what sounds like where the actual lock **** is(or right under it) when i use the key and the console button all other locks work correctly. Would i need to open the door panel. If so can someone link me a how to? thanks.
The yellow hose goes to the lock motor.
How to remove the door panel. (click)

motors?
i believe there are no motors. most german made cars from this era use vacuum. the yellow tube is a vacuum line that comes from a unit called "central locking pump" that is located in the rear of the car. It is a vacuum pump that actuates levers in the 3 doors. line may be ruptured if you hear hissing. can you push the lock button down with your finger?.. if not.. the vehicle may "think" your door is open.

I can only guess that the air pressure or vacuum that operates the 'motor' can overcome the losses due to a small rupture in the line when unlocking only.
It would be nice if scomer88 let us know his outcome, maybe we will never know though.

I have exactly the same issue. i tried to unclip the air line off the door motor and it broke the clip off. With the finger over the tube it makes no hissing noise so it has to be a problem with the lock
I am not sure what you actually mean though, can you feel any pressure or suction in the yellow hose?
It seems rather like Canada in many ways ( after my recent travels ) . Theres a actual problem with the drivers door lock mechanism leaking air. with the air tube removed the system works but the door will unlock but not lock. Is there any way to rebuild it, put new seals in it etc.
It seems drivers side door latch vacuum lock failure is pretty common. And you cant get new replacements though right hand units from scrap yards are pretty common. Has anyone figured out how to re build the left side latch to restore vacuum funtionality?
I've seen various reasons why the drivers door lock isn't working. Quite a few of the problems was the air line being damaged/cracked to the point where the vacuum pump 'signal' doesn't have the oomph to operate the locking mechanism. Are you quite sure the lock/unlock assembly is the failure point?
