The hot glue was referencing if you were to use the slot already in the car, as a lot of the double din units have a single din rear. My HU is 9inches but has a single din rear and is able to adjust to either a center, top or bottom slot. Obviously since the slot is already there at the top I just adjusted it to fit there. If you were to have a double din HU that has a double din rear you would just screw the necessary cage for that head unit into the side as there is plastic for the screws to catch. This all depends on what HU you have and what size it is though. The opening for the kit is 7in but I went bigger to have more of that Mercedes "floating" look, like what's in the newer models. Hope that helps to clear up any confusion.

It is possible and everything still works perfectly.

this alpine 2 DIN has been implemented in 2017 in Germany, based on my ideas.

best regards

Our cars have the perfect cabin setup for having a sub fit right in the center on top of the dash. My 98’ Volvo C70 had the Dolby Pro Logic 2 system which had the sub there from the factory and to this day I’ve yet to hear a better factory sound system in a car. Apparently the way some smaller cars are designed the bass “bounces” off the front windshield and is distributed evenly through the cabin. The way our factory systems were setup IMO was kind of an afterthought. Even my 96’ Volvo 960 had a killer factory system in it. Sorry got off on a Volvo tangent lol. But yes a center speaker or sub would make a world of difference in our cars.

That’s extremely ambitious. How about posting a few images of your accomplishments (call me skeptical). A few pictures of your completed project would most likely equal a few sales.

Better yet? Post them when you’ve had a chance to complete the Hemi install you mentions a few months ago.

good luck to you and good luck to those who purchase your completed double din.

I'd be interested. Would want pics and would be curious on price as well. If you're in the Texas/Louisiana area I can meet you otherwise would probably use PayPal.

130 posts in this thread and nothing concrete to be seen, the AOZ part looked very iffy to me, its in another thread.
I'll take UrbanE's and my design over AOZ's effort.

412 901 5974 is my number there was someone who sent or did a reply about my post about a semi install few months ago and I Have 2 cars I am doing. If anybody wants to see my body/fab/paintwork please google or do research on these fellow builds. Brute force Camaro owner Rob Bertelson He also had a self build that was the CODE RED FIREBIRD, The XBOX which was a 1955 chevy Hot ROD POSTED IT AS THE WORLDS BADDEST 55 CHEVY, The Runt A nova Owner Gerry Kerna, The Missle which was a GoodGuys Giveaway Car, Boss Snake as well. I Actually also stated that I wanted to create a bwide body kit or possibly an updated kit that is a higher quality to modernize the styling. There are so many semis swaps and 11k swaps across the board. To buy a wrecked car of copra than do the swap it isn't anything special same as a 113k. Anyone who builds cars also knows that its a living build things change one reason why I hate renderings its a great starter but things change its an organic build it adapts, almost like a genetic mutation. To do a hemi swap, Call it Rapid Fire, Hell Fire etc etc this is all common names and nothing to extreme. SO I contacted Jason Rushford great artist he's gonna do 4 renderings as start not final product for a build that will be an Art Deco/ almost 1940sAviation/Steampunk Design. It's gonna be 2030 crossfire with a mag motor with all Weistec, Possible VRP build on the short bolck. GoodGuys is interested in following the build and I am trying to get Chrysler involved. I did have the original Peter North on a 1966 tornado build and as a future restomod. As well as did some apprenticeship with Gene Winfield. I have all documents needed just shoot me a text call.

I have a Black 04 as well as I have a white 04 that I am just putting in a really kick *** stereo now as a fun driver that's where I was at with my interior. Im working in my headliner now with my speakers install and star. light headliner. Than ill be back onto the dash. the double din radio really is very easy just buy 2 center trim pieces cut and glue and weld together. DO the bodywork and install same with the switches just glue all pieces together cut out switches than make a template fab together do the body work than install. I can def just send to you don't the 2 pieces . Just give me a call we will talk whoever I'll send you the pics and will negotiate prices will take roughly 2 to 3 weeks to build just cause I have a shop I own and my current workload. SEND EMAIL TO CARMEDIX412@GMAIL.COM. I can send you The Direction Of Pay and Work Auth Forms and estimate from my Software directly to you I will need you cars vin to upload the vehicle info into my estimating program. If anyone is interested in a kit let me know as well I'll start here in about 2 months on the rear bumper first. Im picking up another crossfire in about 2 weeks in Maryland/Washington area that one will be totally taken apart to do molds on. I know this is a ramble just had a few people attack me and also a few people interested as well
