Fellow minnesotians--Does everyone in mn. put their crossfires in hibernation for the winter? I learned a hard lesson the first winter I owned my crossfire by not storing it before the first snowfall, which was a big one. I was away from home and the experience returning on the freeway with summer tires was an experiene I would just as soon forget. Then when I got home , I became stranded at the bottom of my rather long inclined driveway. I towed the crossfire to the top of the hill, and since I wasn't going to be able to tow it into my heated storage/shop,I let it sit outside in the driveway. The snow was about six inches deep and when I tried to move the crossfire the next morning it was frozen in place and an attempt tp tow / break it loose was in vain. I had to "shovel" the snow from under the crossfire to free it, and then cleared the snow from the driveway leading to the shop so I could drive it in. It remained in storage until all snow had disappeared in the spring. Each fall since, I put the crossfire in storage when the first snowfall is forcasted. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I think a few brave(read: have cajones bigger than Paul Bunyan) drive their cars in the winter but I wouldn't dream of it, even with snow tires. I did for a short while last year with my base and if the grade was steeper than 10 degrees, even with the Nokian snow tires and 100lbs of tube sand in the back, you still only had a 50/50 shot at making it up it.

Right now, my little silver-blue beauty is slumbering peacefully in the garage until the snow disappears and we get some rain to wash all the salt off the roads.

For the most part I leave mine in the garage over the winter. But I will take it out on a nice clear day to circulate the fluids. Had a storage problem the just came to bite me in the butt 2 weeks ago. Seems all the seals had dried up and it sprayed oil and coolent all over the engine. 3 days in the shop replacing stuff. I also learned a lesson on March 10th 2007 about driving in the winter. First nice day in a while. Stuff thawing, out driving. Stayed out late. Hit an ice patch that had re-froze and went shooting off the road at 20mph and hit a ice berm. Up and over. $5000 later got the car back.

I drove mine all last winter. Just the conti a/s on it, but they seemed to be just fine. Bit of slip here and there but all in all alot better than I had expected. This year though we have 3 cars for the two of us, so the little girl is tucked away sleeping in my Mother in law's garage in Saint James, where I dropped it off there at Thanksgiving. I'll bring it back when we get down there around Easter or sooner if we have an early Spring.

I felt comfortable enough driving it all winter last, even when we had that 10" one day in March, but this year I was dreading the possibility that someone would slide into it and total it for absolutely nothing, so I'm glad I put it to sleep for awhile. Man I miss her already. But then again, maybe I'm just missing warmer weather, which is a distinct possibility.

Merry Christmas everybody, and all the best in the New Year. Mark

Both of mine are stored for the season. The only Crossfire I'm driving for the next four months is in Forza on my Xbox.

I take my Crossfire out on the "nice" days in the winter. Otherwise, it's the little yellow Aveo for me.

GDC-SRT and myself met up with Rush549 last night as he was in town on work. As always, a good time was had by everyone and it was great to meet him. You MN boys that don't get out much, this spring you're gonna have a lot of catchin' up to do cuz we're seeing more people from other states up here than our own resident owners.

Everyone take care and stay warm (unless you live in FL, then I don't feel sorry for your 70* cold weather)

Can anyone up there in the frozen tundra (I'm originally from Mpls) tell me about this yellow roadster at Barnett Chrysler in White Bear Lake?

2007 Chrysler Crossfire Limited, $22,988 - Cars.com

thanks

Don't know anything about this car, but I will tell you that this is a good dealership. I bought mine from there, and all in all, a bit of a horse trade, but they were fair. Prices though have gone up.

Other than the fact that they are asking about 3-4K more than they should especially since it's the middle of winter up here, it looks to be a pretty good, clean, age/mileage appropriate car. I'd offer them $15.5K and see how they react since it's been there awhile. They probably only gave the previous owner $14K at best and I'm sure it wasn't anything more than a vacuum, windex and wash for them to have it cleaned up and ready for the lot.

Spring's coming! On my way home this afternoon, I see this Oyster Gold Cross, with red pinstripes on Cedar S/B by the Minnesota River Bridge. First gold one I've seen on the road. Anybody here?

At the present time, looks like my night work hours are off the table.

A GTG would be very welcome.

I'm always up for a beer, and Waconia is not that far from Plymouth. I think the old Crossfire can make it out there, even in the middle of winter. What time are we looking at, and what's the place?
