ERZER,

DAWT MILL was a great find. What a fantastic weekend.

The weather was perfect and the river canoe run was incredibly enjoyable.

For all those who declined this event,, TOO BAD. YOU GUYS REALLY MISSED A GREAT TIME.

Thanks Ruth for setting this up. A definite repeat should be planned for next year.

Jane would enjoy it.

We also could try the folks in Springfield MO, assuming they are still around.

Just bought a Crossfire last night. I'm in southern Illinois and Gateway might be the closest group. Glad to meet you!

Where in Southern Illinois. I lived in Chicago where I learned anything outside of Cook County was considered Downstate,,,,, AKA "southern illinois"

Two more points to make;
What model did you buy?

And
Welcome!

OK that qualifies as Southern

You may find that southern Indiana crossfire The Ohio vally group, is closer to you. However,the Gateway group out of St Louis has far more fun.

We would love to have you join us on our next adventure.

For the record, a southern Illinois wine tour would be cool. Any thoughts?

We will meet at the Cracker Barrel at Hwy 40 and Hwy K in O'Fallon, MO for breakfast. From there we will head down Hwy 94 for a drive. If you're interested in visiting the Daniel Boone home, let me know. One requested stop would be Noboleis Winery Noboleis Vineyards - Augusta, MO
Otherwise, it will be a day of friends, some driving and ....... any other suggestions?

As of right now, but we are considering changing to a late afternoon dinner at a winery since it is just the two of us and Mike and Sue.

You guys need the Illinois contingent to make things interesting........ You guys really need to look at planning a long weekend in West (BY GOD) Virginia!!!! It's beautiful out here and ALL of the roads are an adventure..... We are located about an hour from the New River Gorge (in October is bridge day if anyone is interested in base jumping) and about 45 minutes from the Canaan Valley area, all are beautiful drives with plenty of winding back roads to get lost on! Keep us updated on future plans for the GCG, we really want to get back and see all of you! Who all is going to the Fall Dragon? (you know us, we might just show up there)

I love the Caanan valley area. Very remote and scenic. Traveled along I-64 many a time.

A Gateway cruise would be nice but that is a 10 hour drive.

Fontana news;
I think from Gateway only Eric and Ruth
I might sneak into Itsky's trunk whenhe drives thru Stlouis from Denver.

Really good to hear from you guys. You are missed.

Happy fall weather folks.
Just means we are that much closer to ice and snow

Before the blues set in (no, not hockey), just wanted to plant this in your heads now.

Trying to put together some events for the next year. Please send your ideas and suggestions! Looking at doing two possible weekend trips. Let me know of any weekends you might already know of that wouldn't work for any events

Thursday, January 24th, around 4 PM, I passed a black Limited Coupe headed north on I-55. We were probably 3-4 miles south of I-270 ramp. Never got driver's attention as I passed. Was curious if owner was a member of Gateway Group.

Anyway, I was headed back to Lambert airport after being on business in Farmington, MO area for the week. I'll be back in that area again next week.
