Unhappy Re: Gateway Crossfire Group

Sorry to hear that - I hope you are OK. Two nice cars wrecked too. But this kind of thing happens quite often- it happened to me (course I was 19 at the time). you go slightly off the road into gravel or grass or dirt, and you over react and punch it to avoid going off the road and into the ditch- what you don't reaslize is that when your tires get back onto the road and grab ahold you get shot straight across the road. Luckily I only ended up in the ditch on the other side of the road and I know better now - but happens quite often.

Brian, I am glad you are well enough to post which is the most important thing. As to the other driver, I hope MADD really get's involved and she does some hard jail time.

Please keep us posted about your health.

I really hope you can get back into another XF and get back to the track. See if the insurance will let you keep the car after being totaled so you can use it as parts for the next one.

Thanks everyone. I hope to get back into another srt6 be we shall see. There will be a fight with the insurance company and even after that the lawyer gets 30% minus the med pay from my insurance. THe ideal thing would be to be able to purchase another srt6 and be the same place on it 11k. and have the current one as a parts car for spare parts and a test bed for racing parts/performace mods. . But we shall see!

As for me i can't get to far into it until everything is said and done, but i could of been much much worse off.

Yes, you could have had a burning paper bag on your head. As it is you just lost some machinery and a few minutes of consciousness. Glad you're healing.

Best wishes on getting your baby replaced. Being without your crossie is a B!tch.
Going on 8 weeks now. Trust me.

Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad you made it out ok.
Talk to Franc, I know he has an SRT6 available.

Max and I are sorry that we can't make the Dragon this year. We will have just gotten back from our cruise and can't be gone again so soon due to work. But we are definitely planning on the Hermann trip. Look forward to seeing you all again!!

Can't wait to see em when you down here to Fontana! I'm a weekend wrench turner maybe once or twice a year, so those are not even in the cards for me unless I find some used pairs for a good price, then I might consider it.

See you guys soon.

They looked wonderful and were a hit with others down there. I agree though, not something you want to approach thinking it is an easy thing for a weekend job. As I said, a second set of assemblies and I might just consider doing it to them.

Back to the GCG now. We all certainly hope many more of you can come next year, it would be great having a big presence, though I suspect CAA part 2 may have an impact on that decision.

As to around here, hopefully we'll see a group of you at the Oct meet.

Last and certainly not least and still large on my mind, how are you doing Project Mayhem? Still having any issues? I certainly don't want to speak for the others, but if you are wanting to join, we may have some with open seats. You are still part of the family, just one waiting for the next XF.

Keep in touch.

By the way, you all missed Mr. Taz's V8 beast...he put a 5.5 AMG in an NA roadster. I don't remember the HP, but I think around 534. They have it down so well they are taking orders for others to have their car done..... WOW

The photo page for KILLBOY has posted a picture of our Crossfire with the title "Angel Eyed QT" they are one of the photographers on the Tail of the Dragon. It's located on the highlights link from their home page.

Well as far as I know, the tires are great...BUT since I don't get to drive the Jeep anymore....I really have no clue except when I hear Kell say "Man the Jeep drives great!" LOL He said he is getting better gas mileage now...which is great!

Ruth and I are planning for dinner at Stone Hill when we do the Hermann run; I believe around 5:00pm.
If you are interested, drop me a PM or if you have her email/face book thingy. No, I don't have it, I'm still resisting it.
