OK we are good to go with Crown Valley.

So how many of us shall they expect? I told them to expect about 10 people.

Right now we have 12 you and Cathy so even under new math I think that would be 14, but that can always fluctuate.

Didn't see evidence of that here.

OK but my money is on 10. More would be just fine. Crown can handle it.

Sorry Franc, I've been very much under the weather these past couple of days; I'll get it posted a little later. I'll have to get it from Ruthie and her face book thing...yes I'm still resisting my friend but getting weaker.

However, as it appears face book is taking over information flow somewhat, I have sad news that surprised, shocked, and staggered me, at least to find out via that method, thank goodness for Ruth. The sharks (shark067 & Mrs_Shark067) have sold their cars...yes both of them.

One can only hope they will someday find the financial resources and the necessary calm in their lives that we can once again attain the group harmony that we enjoyed. Good luck to both of them and we look forward to seeing everybody together in the future.

Yes, we were intimately aware of the loss of two Crossfires to our group. But it was not our place to announce it.

The big deck at Fontanna will not be the same without them.

Kell's energy and Debby's witful humor will be missed.

January 29, 2011 - Eagle Days

This is a family event, and Crossfires are not required though we hope the weather allows it. Bring your good camera's and binoculars. A couple of years back we had hundreds flying around, last year it seemed like only a couple of dozen.

0830: Meet at Cracker Barrel in St. Charles, MO near Hwy 70 and 5th St, 901 Veterans Memorial Pkwy. 1000 - 1030: Leave Cracker Barrel to Clarksville.
1200: Watch a Live Eagle Show
1300: (approximately) depart for Crown Valley for lunch.

Eagle Days - Clarksville MO (link to their informational page)

Attendees:

Ruth & Eric
Sandy & Max
Teresa & Greg (Emma is possible)
Peggy & Lou
Sue, Mike, and Mikaela
Cathy and Franc

Crossfires are not required. They are never "required."

With respect to our previous posts here and elsewhere, our cars do not define us. They are what introduced us to friendships.

Eventually the cars will wear out.

The lawyers and teachers have scared the schools into closing Friday. But I assume our jaunt to Clarksville is still a go.

We are taking the ole JEEP.

Riders welcome if you can make it to our house or the Cracker Barrel.
Room for two more.

Or three if they are good friends.

It was good seeing everybody that showed up and we had some good fun and wine; to bad there were less eagles than last year and the food wasn't quite as good as we've had it in the past. Maybe next time we find another place to eat lunch and perhaps somewhere else to look at the eagles.

Looking forward to the Spring/Summer meets though with us going to both CAA and the Fall Dragon, I'm not sure how much we'll be able to do outside of couple of them.

Be safe everybody!

We were a bit dissapointed with the Crown Valley folks. Despite our reseravtions, the kitchen crew was caught off guard. At least their wine cellar was full.

Cathy and I will check out the winery steak house just south of Clarksville. I won't hae any trouble getting her up there to Clarksville. She likes to visit the antique shops. So you guys will owe me big.

Haha, I believe you were the one that kept taking different things to the front counter, not her. I managed to escape w/o Ruth finding anything...but then again I didn't find a mantle clock either.

Let us know when you two decide to go up to that one just South, I'm sure if it is on a weekend and there is wine involved, Ruth will jump at the opportunity...out of all that we bought, I only came away with one bottle that I'm sure she'll like just as much as me.

He's still alive folks....

They were so far away and so very few in the area and I didn't see any flying. The only pics would have been from the ones in the apple shed. One of the rangers told me in Dec they had about 2000, he said just prior to crossing into St. Charles on Page he saw 8 of them sitting in a tree on the South side of the road...normally too dark when I go by to see anything, but I guess it could be possible, but the area seems too populated to interest them.

As you can see, you missed "Eagle Days" But then so did the Birds.

Next GTG event is unclear. I think Greg and Teresa were looking into a southern Illinois event. June may bring a southern Indiana event.

Hey Franc, you guys do a June Southern Ind event give me a buzz, it's only 2.5 hours away more or less. If I can make it schedule wise I will try. I have been to Fla. 2 times (once by way of Fort Jackson SC for basic graduation for my son) --- and NC (Fort Bragg) to bring my daughters stuff home all since the middle of Jan. With another trip to Fla. in a few weeks to move my ailing Father in law home. Busy year so far.
