Making a run to Rockville, IN

We will leave the St. Louis area on Friday June 3. (Please post a message how early you are available to leave on Friday so we know how many to expect and when to leave.) Saturday we will spend the day driving in the Rockville, IN area to see as many covered bridges as we can, then relax and enjoy. We will drive back Sunday. It's about a four hour drive from St. Louis. Many hotel/motels are booked in the area. The Parke Bridge Motel is currently holding four more rooms for our group until March 25, but when they are gone, that may be it.

Area info: Welcome to Parke County, Indiana ~ Covered Bridge Capital of the World

Motel info: Parke Bridge Motel, Rockville Indiana  in the Parke County Covered Bridge Capital of the World, 8 miles from Turkey Run State Park in Parke County, Rockville, Indiana  not far from canoe rental, Mansfield, Motel for sale by owner, Motel for

Cindy is the lady we have spoken to at the Motel. Rooms range in price from $55-65 and they have a continental breakfast. Rooms have their own bath, some do not have tubs, refrigerator and microwave. If these rooms get booked, we have a brochure with more and the "Area info" link above also lists more. If they are booked and you need help finding a room, let me know.

Also, the evening of June 4 is the Rockville Mainstreet Cruise In:

If you are interested in entering your car, let me know and we'll get you what information we have.

I can meet up for whatever is going on on Fri. the 3rd but I have to work on the 4th. You have to watch the Parke County\Turkey Run area at night, High deer\car numbers, my truck has dents all the way down one side.

Does anyone know if these rooms are all spoken for?

We would be interested in booking one, but I want to make sure I am not taking a room from someone who has been planning to attend....

Crown valley is in Clarksville MO
We go there on Eagle days in February.
Wines are great, food is so, so.

This event is not at Crown Valley. It is in June and is in southern Indianna.
Rockville area, touring covered bridges.

Really don't know and while you're being noble, I believe the wife has had as much success as she can get in contacting those from our group; sorry, but she is out of town with visiting our daughter. If you're going to join us, please consider yourself part of the group.

Thanks.

We are there Friday and Saturday night.

"Cruise"?

I think we are doing the covered bridges not the car event.

I think we should check into the cruise in, it states on their web site that it is an evening event. I'm not sure about you guys, but by late afternoon, I'm sure I will have seen all of the covered bridges I can stand and be ready to look at a few custom cars and answer all of the questions about how our group wound up in Indiana, and where they too can get a car as cool as ours........ Just a thought.......

That was my thought as well, the cruise in might be very cool, but someone should definitely contact the guy on the website about registration and see what it entails and if we can sign up day of the event?

We put it out there as an option which sounds like people are interested in doing. I tend to agree with everybody thus far, it is a good way to wrap up a day of driving around. We'll look into it a little more when we get some time.

Med are you going? Did you book a room and would you be able to leave with the group on that Friday? The earliest Ruth can go is about 1:30, but it is only about a 4 hour drive.

Med are you going? Yes! Did you book a room and would you be able to leave with the group on that Friday? No, I did not book a room, my plan is to live with family in the area and meet back up the next day! The earliest Ruth can go is about 1:30, but it is only about a 4 hour drive.

I hope my job don't send me on any last minute travel!

I just talked to Cindy and it looks like they have 4 rooms available as of right now. It is a 2 night minimum stay (Molly and I were just going to stay Saturday). We are definitely on the fence, but I think with this group, it will be a fun time.

I asked Cindy if we could hang out on the front porch or in the parking lot and to drink and BS with each other and she said as long as we were respectful, that would be no problem. I told her we would try and keep Franc in line - but no promises

Doc, you still thinking of heading over?
