HI, Patrick here. 54 years old and live in Kennesaw Ga.
I just purchased a 2004 Crossfire. It is black and was originally sold in West palm beach FL.
It has 57K miles and is in great shape. Automatic trans. New tires all the way around. New headlights. New grill. New headliner. New windshield. Interior id DK slate. I paid 9K for her today. Runs and rides sooo smooth. Only issue is BAS light is on and owner could not get it to go off. I did the steering wheel turn lock to lock then center thing. That didn't work. Last owner said he disconnected Battery and reconnected and it stayed off for 3 weeks then back on. Tires are new with alignment he said. He also said no codes are being produced according to a shop he took it to. He said this is common on this car and the Merc. SLK.
I don't know.

Take Thursday and Friday off this week and join pizzaguy's convoy in Cumming headed for the Tail of the Dragon.
Lot's of folks there would be happy to discuss BAS lights.
I wouldn't call it exactly a 'common' occurrence, but search the threads here and you might find something.

( BTW: Welcome to the forum )

Next big thing in my schedule is the big annual car show right here in my hometown on Nov 2 & 3.
( Saturday is swap day, Sunday is show day )
We usually pull around 1,200 cars ....

Thats about 98 miles for you

The BAS can be a flaky wheel speed sensor, based on what I've read here.
You got a good deal on the car.

And we sure wish you could join us this weekend - this will be a great GTG and it looks like we will luck out on the weather!

Pacemeker is absolutely right.

There is no shortage of people here willing to help thru any crisis.

Don't listen to anyone who tells you to "use the search feature" and you will be fine.

There is no cure for owning a Crossfire. Most who leave our club do not do so of their own free will, but in a box or a body bag. Sorry, there is no cure.

Unfortunately, for you, we are the support group.

Best wishes and welcome.

Thanks all. I have had my eye on this model for a few years now. I finally decided to sell the motorcycle and buy the Crossfire. I am not sure what to do about the BAS ESP light though. Maybe I will disconnect the battery for 30 min and see what that does. Don't know what else to try.

I just do U-turns and accept weird looks from people lol. I don't think the car needs to be moving for it to work but try it and see what happens.

Welcome by the way!

I will be going out this morning and try the u turn thing. What are the best performance mods for power on this baby outside a turbo or blower?

CAI and Tune are about it for the N/A Crossfire.

If you want power and mods, get an SRT6 Crossfire!

But if you want to see what the N/A can do, come to the Spring Tail of the Dragon and you'll see - I have more fun with my N/A roadster here than with any other car ever.

Speaking of that, back to the fun - we are lining up for our Saturday runs in 15 mins...

There's also the 74mm throttle body upgrade and baffle clearing that squeaks a few more ponies out..

Hey guy please give me some advice. In regard to the BAS ESP light. The battery is new. I disconnected it for 30 min then reconnected did the steering reset procedure a few times and no luck. I checked tire pressure and was 37 in the rears and 33.5 in front so adjusted pressure to 33.5 rear and 32.5 front.
Drove around about 5 miles or so still have light. The previous owner replaced the brake switch and calibrated it and replaced the battery. There are no codes being thrown according to the last owner but have not had that checked yet.
Should I have the steering angle sensor replaced or perhaps the ABS ESP module? Not sure what to do. Maybe put a piece of electrical tape over the light . Appreciate any advice. I have read other strings on this and not sure where to go next to fix it.

Electrical tape... crapshoot part replacement.. or dealer for diagnostics..
Welcome aboard my boat.. Already tried wheel sensors on all four corners and then decided.. "hey. I like the spoiler up all the time... and the ability to lock up the brakes and slide sideways.. and spin tires with 1/10 second thought".. LOL
