New Kid On The Block
Hi everyone!
I am very glad to have found this forum, and from the look of things I will be visiting quite often. I'm 63 yrs old and retired and I have found a new hobby as of yesterday. I bought a 2004 Crossfire 6 speed all stock for now. I am a car enthusiast owning everything from a pumped up Camaro to a 1988 supercharged Toyota MR2. I had no idea, after much research, that I could fall in love with a car this quickly. The Crossfire is Silver with black interior and it only had 32,000 mi on the clock in pristine condition with a one owner carfax. What led me here is what looks like a common problem with BAS/ESP light coming on. I searched through the forum for solutions to the problem and found that there are many knowledgeable DIY'ers in this forum. I do all of my own maintenance being a long time car guy so I'm already enjoying this forum. I haven't found a fix yet but that's half the fun of enjoying this fine machine. Lots of sensors in these new cars that all work in conjunction with each other make for an interesting journey. Thanks and glad to be here!....Scotty

Try this link, there is a discussion by several owners concerning the BAS/ESP light. If you have the original battery (White cover), it may be time to buy a new one. By the way, welcome to the forum and enjoy your Crossfire....

Welcome to the forum Scotty!
Glad you found us and you will be glad you did too.
Sometimes after playing with electrical stuff on my XFs I get the BAS light thingy.
I do the turn the wheel full left and right and that has always worked.
Give it a shot!
Be sure to check that battery too. An old one can cause a lot of strange issues.
See ya!

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Check out the Spring Tail of The Dragon gtg that will happen in April. It's not too long of a drive for you and you would enjoy meeting other Crossfire owners from across the country and Canada and driving the wonderful mountain roads that come complete with names like the Dragon, Hellbinder, the Skyway, Moonshiners, the road to nowhere and others.
Hey thank you all very much, I certainly am glad to be here! Thanks to your suggestions, I will approach this BAS/ESP warning light a little at a time, I'm really not to worried about it. It shut itself off after I did the wheel to wheel reset. If it comes back on again, I will start going down through the list. I do know one thing...I am really hooked on this car, and just ask my wife, I've had a lot of cars
The tail of the dragon run sounds fun, where is that?
The Dragon is on the border of TN and NC in the smokies.

Rooms are filling up fast, I'd suggest you not wait. Our spring meet is usually kinda small, but this time, it's taking off! (Again, I guess everyone was waiting for ME to be the leader.

Does it only come on during hard acceleration?
LOL, I think it goes out when the wings come out and the rocket engines takes over. But probably not as fast as your SRT6, those are shweeet!
Thanks, I don't have a OBD 2 scanner tool, but I think Autozone does, I'll check it out.
Thank you I, kinda figured the people here are pretty cool.
