Question on Problems with Convertible Mechanism
I have a 2005 Conv. I went to raise the top a week ago and on the drivers side one the links was broke on the hardware that raised the top. Looks like a clean break in the metal but not sure how it happened. The top has stopped on the way down since I have owned the car and the previous owner had the same problem. You had to tap it on the part that rests on the windshield and then it would continue down, not sure if this caused the problem.
Looking for anyone with a similar problem and maybe how to fix it other than replacing the whole mechanism. My first post on the forum so thanks in advance for any help.

Is it possible to post a picture ?
I believe all that hardware is aluminum, may be able to get it welded if you can get it off.

I may be able to help but I can't visualize from your photos exactly where that broken piece is located. I have a complete convertible top framework. Can you better describe the location of that broken piece and can you post a better / larger photo OR e-mail me those photos you have so I can blow them up for a better look? RedDogNumber1@aol.com
How did that get broke?
Probably letting college-age cheerleaders sit on his top!
(I guess I will avoid making that mistake....)

Thanks for that tip George . . . Now I can see it! I'll go see if that section / part is removable from my top framework . . .

Once again, Bob to the rescue !
( Don't complain or haggle about the price, you are NOT going to find it anywhere else. )
