Looking to purchase either an 04 or 08 both very low miles and very similar. Any suggestions or reasons to buy one over another. Cost is the same.
04 is white with red/grey interior And 08 is blue with grey interior. Any feed back would be great. Thanks

You are not telling us very much. Are they both Coupes? (Roadsters came out in 05, so I'm assuming they are both Coupes.)

Personally, the red (I think they call it Cedar) interior is my least favorite (only cause it's ugly). On the other hand, the 07s/08s have a modified underdash/glove box. Not a big deal, but they are a bit different (this was done due to federal regulations.) The 04s are the only ones with the automatic day/night rear view mirror - other than that, there are no differences.

The 04s with manuals had a 1st gear issue that was covered by warranty, tho many never got them fixed and the TSB has expired.

If one is an auto and one is a manual, buy the manual so you never deal with the auto trans fluid leak or the conductor plate failing.

Sorry both coupes and automatic. Wondering if the value is better on 04 or 08
we really like the cedar it is classy.
I guess the construction is about the same. Less 08s sold is what I have read. Just looking for some ownership and experienced crossfire owners to comment Thanks for your review.

Since both are coupes with autos get the one that looks best to you. You could be disappointed but I doubt it. I bought an SRT coupe first, then thought a roadster would be fun so I bought a limited roadster, then decided an SRT roadster would be the best of both worlds so I bought an SRT roadster. My problem now is I still don’t have a manual trans but I am running out of room.

The 2007-2008's have the Takata airbags. That in no way is a show stopper as they are being replaced under recall. You may want to run the VIN on the 08 on the NHTSA Recall website to see if there any open recalls on the driver air bag that would still need to be taken care of.

Color is a personal preference for you to decide. I would take a close look and compare of the overall condition of both. A documented car maintenance history is a big plus. Has either of the cars spent more time outside in the sun? How about number of owners? Which will need the tires $ replaced sooner?

Why not buy both? You know you want to.

Thank You tool man. Great comments. I will check the 2008. Both are great condition but to far to visit. Buying unseen or driven.
No detailed records. Just Carfax my ask would be 2004 vs 2008. Which is a better buy if the same price. Both running original tires
both garage kept and less than 10k miles. If I can’t buy both. I need an educated guess on the right one. Leaning to 2004 White with Cedar. Both are $15k Low miles and condition may justify the higher price. Lubbock Texas is far from everywhere. Haha

So some might say that is a good thing?
All things considered the 2008 is the one to get, when it comes to selling it the age will work against the 2004.
$15K is too much for both anyway, low mileage gets people looking, not spending too much more though.
You could get a nice SRT for that money.

$15,000 for a limited coupe? My advice: RUN. I'd pay $10,000, maybe $11,000 if I was in a really good mood.

Id' forgotten about the airbag issue. They are fixed under a recall, but some dealers have pulled the old, "We found additional airbag issues not covered under warranty, you owe us $1000. Pay up and we will release the car to you." Lesson: ANYTIME you take a car to a dealer, you are at risk, there are NO guarantees it will actually be 'free' and they can charge you anything they want to - you have no recourse and Chrysler is not going to be of any help. Please read my sigline one more time (then go buy the 04).

No matter which one you buy, you need new tires. Modern day tires aren't designed to last a decade. I have an Alabaster 04 six speed, with the Cedar Slate interior. We love that interior and get a lot of compliments on it. If I had the opportunity to purchase a brand new Crossfire just like the one we have, I'd do it all over again. We love our car that much.

Firemax.
What value would you place on a car like yours with 15k miles. Am I crazy to buy at $14 to $15k.

I paid $10 k for a 07 roadster limited with 27k from a dealer. Very clean and everything works. I would go with the 08 after 5 years of production they have solved problems and perfected their product. Have patience and get exactly what you want. Check out all the used car sites on the web, there are a lot of Crossfires out there for sale. You may have to travel but you get to drive it back ! Decide: color interior and exterior , convertible or coupe ,auto or manual definitely go with limited over base if you want all the extras

I had the driver air bag replaced by a local dealer on my 07 convertible without incident. It's an easy replace. I have read on the forum where several members have had problems.

There was a recall on the airbag 2007 -2008 if it hasn't been fixed you can still take it in, they will change it out at no cost
