I have a question - when people get there - how do they get their free wine tasting? Are we suppose to have something to give them to turn in to the Linganore staff to show they are with the show and get a free tasting?

8 AM Saturday morning at the location, right?
When they pick up their registration package, we will provide them with their ticket for the free wine tasting. The winery will give them to me on Saturday monring and we'll hand them out along with the goody bags when they check in.

Yes, 8 am on location. See you there.

No this is all going to stop by 3:00 A.M. forecast for tomorrow is high of 82 and 20% chance of rain.
At 8:00 A.M. it is only supposed to be 70 so bring a jacket.
See everyone tomorrow bright and early.
Dave

just toss some soap on the car before you call it a night, and it will be clean and ready first thing tomorrow.

Easiest directions to the show.

make your way to I-70. Take Exit 62/MD 75, merge onto Md-75N. Drive about 5 miles, turn right onto Glissans Road. Drive about 4 miles, winery on the right.

just got a call from a club - something Ghosts - said they were bringing a mess of cars up tomorrow. When I asked about how many makes a 'mess', he said at least 15-20 cars and he needs a place to unload a trailer...I told him I was sure we could find a place for him to do that...I hope I was right about that ...Seems like Dave may need some help with registration in the AM...if the weather is clear and nice, we could end up with more than we think...and I'm OK with that.

Wow, that's great. Yes, there is plenty of room to unload a trailer. They can pull in the visitor parking area - which is a huge grassy area, unload the car and keep the trailer there and pull the car into the show filed area immediately adjacent to the visitor lot. When I see you in the morning, I'll show you the best area for it.

Ghost Ryderz i think. ive been talking on facebook with one of the boad members of that club. they have a free show August 25th. if this is the "ghost" club then we need to retun the favor and support their show. I'll post details of the show on the 25th later.

hopefully there will be 50+ cars at this show.......i dont want to bring home goodie bags

Congrats to everyone today on a great first show. I hope everyone made it home safely.

I'm going to send out some thank yous this week to Wegmans, the Winery, etc. I'm assuming everyone would still like me to see if we can secure a tentative date for next year, right?

We can decide later if we change venues but from my vantage, this worked out very well and we should at least put it in the hopper for consideration again for next year. We should start now trying to nail down next years date / options. Similar time in August?

Awesome show guys and gals and what a turn out!! One of the better shows I've been to for sure and it's all the sweeter as this is the first award my cars won... Thanks to all those who helped make it possible and glad we were able to help puppies. Also, we're posting up some photos of today on our blog Photography of Cars, Trucks, Planes, and Boats |Automotive Photography

The weather was perfect, so i say we think about mid-august for next year. we had a little scare with the rain, but it didnt hurt the turnout. I will be sending out "thank you" notes to all our automotive vendors that supported with the give aways and goodie bags.

Jason congrats on the award, and the pics are fantastic. the picture from the air is great..........and the three pictures with my Plymouth Fury are awesome!

What fun this turned out to be - everyone seemed to really like the show and the venue - cast my vote to use this location again next year if they will have us and we can figure out how to arrange for a bigger crowd next year - I think we have the right beginnings to build on. I would love to know what the Winery thought about us, the show, and how it affected their business...I think the pastoral setting with access to toilets, food and BOOZE is just awesome...I enjoyed helping out and look forward to next year.

It was also nice to see the Crossfire drivers show up - I hope we have their names and addresses to follow up with - but I know a couple weren't registered so it could be hard....a note for next year...be prepared to take CICCI sign ups at the event if we need to...

Jason, I am sure you will be sending them a complete report?

We're glad you both came and look forward to seeing the slide show. Stay in touch and monitor this thread and you'll see what we're up to on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure we are planning on going to a show on the 25th in Thurmont, MD. There's also one in Urbana, MD on the 26th some of us may go to. Let me know if you're interested. Also, just be a regular on the thread and you'll likely be able to get all the details you need.

BTW, we are also planning our second annual Crossfires Across the Bay - and heading over for Crabs at the Crab House. It's tentatively scheduled for Sept 29th. Stay tuned.

Thanks, Paul

The show was great I vote for keeping it at the same venue, if they will have us. I just spoke to the food vendor, he called to see how he rated, I know it's up to the board for a Vote but I would like to keep them, we spoke about next year they could bring some frozen deserts to also sell on a hot day.
Jason aireal shot looks great.
I thought everyone might like to see some interesting facts from our show.

the food, location and charity were all great. people liked to not have to deal with a porta john, and could actually wash up. the seafood was different from the normal car show food, and everyone liked the change. the winery was selling wine slushies, so we would want to ask them to supply more, or maybe have a slushie machine on the show field next year. over all the food vendor was great. alot of car clubs have the same charity same venue year after year. we did very well this year, and honestly I think it would be good if we are known as the car show at the winery that helps the dog rescue.

i havent gotten any major gripes about the show. everyone understood it was our first and there would be growing pains. good thing we have a year to plan for the next one.
