Some people will be waiting in the town of Ridgely at the intersection of Sunset Ave and Factory Lane for the group to arrive. if you live east of the bridge and want to join the group, you are welcome to do so at that spot. the group from the mainland should be there at 8am-ish

I am planning on going but have been leaving updates on Facebook. I don't use this site very often. However, if it is raining like it is now when I wake up, I may rethink that....lol. Seems like every show this year has been a rain day

Maryland Covered Bridge Tour

Guys and Gals, I mentioned this a couple weeks ago. The Misfits and others are meeting up to do a covered Bridge Tour. It is scheduled for November 2. Unfortunately I can't make it because I'm heading down to Lynchburg for Family Weekend with my son. Our club and it's members are welcome though. It sounds like it will be a great cruise. Meeting up in central MD and then cruising through backroads of MD to covered bridge sites and then culminating in Thurmont for Lunch. I'm attached the info flier. If interested, let me know and I'll let Tim know. You could just show up as well. Sorry I'm going to miss this one because this is one I'd really like to do. They also have a rain date of for November 9th. If it doesn't happen on the 2nd, I'm around on the 9th and will plan to participate. Hope all is well and Ridgely was a good event.

As we get close to the end of the car show and cruise season I want to say thank you to all the members of COM who have made this year great for the group. We need to start the planning process for our events and get togethers for 2014. I would now like to reach out to the owners who have not attended any COM sponsored events. I would like to know if there is something we can do to make the group more appealing to you. I have been told that I plan too many car shows for the group to attend, and that will be scaled back heavily in 2014. I am taking less of a planning role in events next year and so letting the members to plan 98% of the events that the club will attend. I will be more group president/point of contact, and less event planner. It seems that COM has become stagnated and there needs to be new blood in the group. If any of the Crossfire owners in the state of Maryland or surrounding areas have ideas that can make COM a better, and more importantly larger group I would like to hear them.

I received my copy of Autoweek this weekend and to my surprise there was a nice little spread on the SRT6, with a bunch of nice photos and quotes. Most of which seemed to be a bunch of COM members, Thus I would like to send a nice congrats to the COM members for keeping up the good work and spreading the pride of the XFIRE.

It was the October 28th 2013 issue of Autoweek

Thanks for spreading the word,
Ron

P.S. Chas nice photo dude, can I get an autograph

David,

As much as I want to go, I can't. I'm going to visit my son for family weekend at college. Also, he hit a deer and the car is in the repair facilty so I want to get down there in person to make sure things are going the way they need to. Yuk.

I'd say let's have these discussions in person. Maybe over breakfast some upcoming weekend when we can garner everyones availablity. As you know, I've made a couple comments and suggestions in the past that reflect our clubs unique circumstances and some approaches for consideration to address them. I'd rather not get into all of that here on he forum.

Just so you know, I think who we are, what we've done over a short period of time has been great. I'm proud to be a part of COM and very happy our cars have brought me new friends. One thing my friend said to me which I think is appropriate and thoughtful is...........the uniqueness of your club and the intimacy of a smaller group and universe of cars is actually a really good thing........

I think it's very true in our case. I'm not sure exactly what we are trying to fix, but I think a better thing for us to do is to identify what our goals our, what our limitation and / or opportunities are in light of those goals and that will help us align our approach to get there along with our expections.

The Vice President has spoken.......

No can do for me. My brakes started making a noise this morning. I'll be replacing them this weekend.

So I came out of work yesterday and had a nice surprise on my car. Someone had placed a COM business card on my windshield. I am amazed someone found me back in my business park off route 100. Thanks to whoever put it there! Nice cards, I had never seen them!

I bought a set of front brake pads for the NA about a year ago, and then traded the car. I tried to take them back yesterday, but since I had to order the pads (there were none in stock anywhere in Laurel), PepBoys wouldn't take them back. So ive got a set of unopened NA front brake pads with the mounting hardware I cannot take back to the store. Standard OEM pads, nothing special. I think these are like $30, $40 pads plus the mounting hardware. If anyone with a NA is about to replace the pads, or just want to get a cheap set to have for the future, $20 and they are yours. They do not fit on the SRT, and will fit NA coupe and roadsters. They are doing me no good in my basement.

If anyone is up for catching breakfast some weekend soon, let me know.
