I try to keep it all the same, on averything i post. but at out slow times, i post anything i can on the FB page just to keep it seen. So for now here is what we do. the thread regarding car shows and cruises will be used just for events. no discussion, just post the event information. this (COM) thread will be used for discussion about events, club matters, catching up, problems, whatever. CICCI will be used for all messages we feel we need to keep the parent club up to date with, our big events, our show, our club meetings, things like that. Facebook will be used to promote the club, and promote our in kind sponsors. I hope this clears some things up. please use the correct threads when posting information. it has also been mentioned by a few people that we need to move to monthly meetings so everyone stays up to date. This is where i need EVERYONE to chime in. these meetings wouldnt need to be major, maybe just an hour, but we need a central location, and it would be mantitory. we can even do an online chat or phone meeting, thats fine, but again it would be manditory. please give me your thoughts.
I could do monthly during Summer months April - Sept. not sure we need them over other months.
I also think they should consist of officers only so we don't get side tracked. The officers of club should be checking posts of information that need to be discussed at meeting. That does not mean we stop the annual crab deck or other social events.

Soime quick thoughts from my end. Monthly face-to-facemeetings would be nice but not practical for me. Happy to do a phone meeting monthly and / or a face-to-face every other month and phone meeting on alterntive months. Also, try to combine a meeting with an event. I agree, with Dave, maybe officiers and advisors only on monthly basis.

As far as media usage, it is hard to keep up with but I can say I use the Forum regularly and that's generally my preferred social media access point ........because I also peruse the other threads for information while I'm on here. I always find something new.

One concept I thnk we should explore furthre is the simple use of email. Seems to me we all check our email regularly while visits to the forum, facebook and CICCI are less frequent for many of our members. A once a month club email, which could also be copied and pasted with ease to the other media, would be welcome on my part. We could send out the upcoming events, any other news, meeting info, cruises, etc. all in one mail to people who are members and friends of the Club (if elected to recieve them) and cover everyone without having to worry about who is visiting which social media outlet. Yes, I know people are inundated by emails but I still like this idea. Consolidation of info, direct to our inbox, not having to go visit several outlets and also direct lines of communication member to member. Just my 2 cents, for now.

Not a complaint, just a suggestion.

on another note......ive been talking with Maryland Mopar clubs about Moparpalooza. Looks like we are linking up for sure with Maryland Area Mopars to drive to Moparpalooza. They like our idea of meeting at the rest stop on I-95, but they want to get there early. Meet at the rest stop at 730 and get on the road at 8am. Dave, can you get there that early from the North Pole? We can talk about other options between now and then if its too early to get on the road.

Paul, do you know of any good meeting areas in MoCo? Or do you want to gather the northern/beltway group elsewhere and we all meet up outside the show gate?

Moparpalooza is 19 days away, and spots are filling fast. Please register if you have not done so. I will be meeting the Maryland Area Mopar club this sunday, so I can go over anything we need to talk about then.

Do you have an address on that rest stop so I can track time to get there in MapQuest?

This is all i can find on it.

Rest Area and Welcome Center Maryland
North Laurel, MD

mile marker 36 I-95 south.

just get the time to my house, im like 5-10 mins from the rest stop

211 old line ave
Laurel MD 20724

I put in your address and it said right at 1 hour to the rest stop. you could leave at 645, get there at 745, stretch, bathroom and get back on the road, or we can work out other options.

I'll pick a place or provide a few options. Right now I think the best option would be to just meet up at a lot over at Tysons 2 right off the exit for 123 which is about a mile from the show location.

I'm happy to collect the info from the board and send out an email. I'd need all the email addresses.

The secretary may also be a good person to task with this given they are our official minutes / recorder for the club. We could pick the first of the month for the blast to the members and just make sure we are regular with delivery.

6:45 leave time is doable, but if I get there and I'm waiting on other people that live closer, I'm gonna be pissed. If we leave rest stop @ 7:45 that puts us at show by about 8:30, should be enough time to clean car.

ok cool. Ill be at the rest stop at 730 or slightly before. The other group wants to leave at 8am sharp, so as long as you are there at 8am, you are good.

I'll post all of this to the FB page and the MD car shows thread after this weekend. so far this is working just fine everyone. we keep discussion here, and post final plans on the other sites.

Ok, as a non-board member I will throw in my 2 cents and hope other club folks do also.
First, maybe bi- monthly meetings during the season may be enough.... But if we aren't expected to be there it won't really affect us.
I like the idea of a once a month email, like a club news letter with updates. That could also include links to other info, fliers, etc and be handy for people who may still resist Facebook or other social sites. Email would help validate the club, seems more personal and hopefully keeps people interested with out chasing the info on multiple sites.

ill be dragging butt too dude! i talked to Paul, with DC modern Mopars, and inorder to make sure we all park together and i can put up the canopy we need to get there early........before 9am. the crossfires are in a small class, so parking in the class shouldnt be too much of a problem is you get there late, but they will start parking cars in the areas that they can when the class areas fill up. if you cant make the early morning cruse you can still get to the show, just not sure where you might park. Maryland Area Mopars is taking the lead on the cruise in, so its 8am sharp. they want to get there, set up and clean the cars.

ive already gotten some questions from people if they are able to bring a dog to the show. i said ill have to ask, because i cant remember what we said for last year. so dogs, on the show field/visitor parking, on a leash, being cleaned up by the owners, and everything away from the winery, is that cool? we will not advertise it, but if people ask we say yes? or no?

Yes, but definitely don't advertise it. The shelties are of course fine and expected. Other non charity dogs (individual owners) should be limited to the show field, or parking area ....not near the winery / patio etc. and also best if kept away from the shelty area (so as not to entice barking / aggression). Stress owner clean up etc. I would also discourage it if possible............. bascically yes but..........

I do a lot of things and I even opened a facebook account but only so I could access COMs and a few others. I post nothing, visit nothing etc. Texting is my friend and email is even better.
