Just throwing this out there as a feeler but I was going through some stuff I had in storage this weekend and found a box of calipers I picked up when I had my first black Crossfire. I have 3 sets of 4-piston fronts and 2 sets of 4-piston rears. Since I can't for the life of me remember where I bought them or how many miles they have on them, I don't really feel comfortable selling them as they are so I'm going to do a complete tear down and rebuild of all the pistons, bores, seals, boots and hardware and was wondering if anyone here was looking for a complete bolt-on 4-piston AMG brake upgrade. One set of the front is spoken for and will be powdercoated in Brembo Red but I still have two sets of front and rears available. I'm tearing them apart this week and will be removing the pistons, seals and boots, splitting them, tanking them to remove the old chipped and scratched paint, cleaning up and sanding the surface so they look brand new, will reassemble them with new seals, mask off the bores and mounting points and have them powdercoated. After they're coated, I'll reinstall the pistons with new seals, boots and include new caliper hardware. Doing them all at the same time to save money on coating but with new 345mm front and 330mm rear cross-drilled rotors and ceramic pads, I'd like to get $1500 for front and rears. This would essentially be a brand new bolt-on AMG brake upgrade.

This sounds like a hell of a setup... but of course I have a question. When the calipers are bolted up are the pistons setup on the proper orientation (small to big for forward rotation)? I've been reading up on all the different calipers that can bolt up to our cars but, don't believe I've seen anyone with the pistons oriented correctly.

Hope that made sense.

 

Those are the C class calipers, right? I am looking for used rear calipers. BTW. I did convert my front calipers to be used in the leading position

You know I just read that thread the other day and saw your post but completely skipped that part:

 

I'm splitting the calipers and plan on switching them around so both the pistons and bleeders are oriented correctly for the Crossfire since they use leading vs trailing calipers.


Yes, the 4-piston fronts are C32 and the 4-piston rears are S55.


I don't have any pictures of the calipers now but I will get some as I start going through them. Below are some pictures of the 6/4 setup I am doing for my car and the same will be done with these. The rears for sale look the same as the rears in these pictures.

This is how they looked prior to being refinished and sanded smooth. Notice the pits and scratches in the face.



Here they are masked off and ready for coating. The faces have been refinished and sanded and are all smooth and the pits and scratches have disappeared.





Here they are coated and ready for the pistons to be reinstalled with the new seals, dust boots and caliper hardware.

 

Gorgeous, and it sounds like a great deal... if you still have them in, say, 4 months I might be a buyer lol

Only one set of fronts and rears left.

 

All fronts are sold and only one set of rears left for $450 plus shipping. Since the rear calipers weren't taken apart like the fronts were, I'm not doing anything with them and they will come as is with the pads that are in them.
