Talking 1/4 mile shift points?

I just about have my car ready to kick butt. At what RPM shold I shift at?
I will have the following mods.:
1. Needwings CAI
2. Resonator removed
3.TVT 181 MM pulley kit
4. TVT custom tune.

With out the pulley and custom tune the engine rpm increases 1K after I hit the shifter. Is that normal?

You will be amking max power around 5800 RPM, your optimum shift point will be about 6100 RPM. It's always best to let the car shift itself. It's pretty smart.

By the way we just dynoed a car with:

Needswings CAI
178 mm Pulley
Custom Tune

It layed down 320 RWHP on a Mustand Dyno, about 404 Crank HP.

You should be looking at 420HP+!!

You're gonna love that car.

Agree- Let it shift it's self. Put it in 1st gear and it will take care of the rest.

just remember ,at the end of the run to put it into drive as you will be in 4 gear and if you stop (to get your time slip ) you will be taking off in 4 gear, and the tranny doesn't like that so it burns up, if you do this offen. jim
