bragging rights!
just to add to this old thread, and the last comment, there are many stock z's running mid 13's, 100%stock to the tire, and faster than that with the hr motors which are in the new ones. and actually the fastest time bone stock was by a 07 and was a 13.1 at 107.62, so tell me how that is not competative to a srt-6. get the facts straight before you rag on the z. and fastest time with a DE motor which i have which are in 03-06 is a 13.6 at 102 and many others right around that time along with my 13.7. so tell me how the na crossfire even compares. it doesn't and you have only seen incompetant drivers i take it. you were already saying your times of mid and high 15's, that doesn't even compare.you are hoping to even break 14's. like i said i have owned a crossfire can't lie to me. i would never go back. The srt-6 i respect in speed wise, but i would laugh at a na crossfire pulling up to me. traps and everything don't even compare. spit the truth man. somebody always has a faster car, and for the aftermarket scene the two cars don't even compare. I had a procharger kit , but now building for my greddy twin turbo kit and plan to make all of 600whp. there is nothing like that for a crossfire. crossfire is a nice car, but not a car to buy and try to go fast unless its a srt-6 i learned the hard way by buying one without looking into it and kind of spur of the moment and regretted it the whole time. peace

Glad I wasn't in my "oh so slo" NA Crossfire.
not saying slow, saying not fast. i went reading around here yesterday adn found many people who were truthful enough and saying they regret buying it and that they should have bought a srt-6 and etc. how it lacks power. even motor trend car and driver all those road tests say how it lacks power. Like i said its a nice looking car and thats about it, it will keep up with some faster stock cars yes, but by no means is a fast car. With a good driver can do well against others but, hate how some act like its a race car and is fast. I mean honestly its a 15 second car stock. come on. and what can you really do to it ya know. maybe put it in 14's. mercedes engines are known to not like nitrous so well see how long that lasts, since its the only real power adder for the car to really be competative with other stock cars that are just faster.

yes i do mean like this, what is that supposed to mean?, like i said only real power adder for n/a crossfire, and just broke 13's. without the spray and all the bolt ons, what was it 14.8. my point exactly, so i don't know what that was supposed to mean by your comment. Cause it proved my point that with nitrous and all the bolt on's it will just keep up with stock z's.
also like i said, the srt-6 is a fast crossfire, and nothing like the n/a, have you been in a n/a crossfire, it does not compare. . and nitrous on the supercharged car will prolly help keep temps down, and all im saying about mb engines not liking nitrous is i have heard alot of bad things about spraying mercedes motors thats it, i have never encountered a problem when i was spraying, but wonder how long it will really last. And with the srt-6 it doesn't have to rely on nitrous, i mean a n/a crossfire would have to rely on it and spray all the time just to keep up with most cars unlike the srt-6 which wouldn't and could use it sparingly.
i love my z and i am the only one in the area. I have yet to see another one around here. I honestly see more crossfires than z's. and the resale value on the crossfire is very bad. i was looking at trading my crossfire for a z before and couldn't give the thing away, i was offered highest of 11,000.00 for a 05 roadster 6spd, with 20k on it. thats horrible. dealers just can't sell them.

I hear ya, resale right now sucks. Kinda glad it does suck now because for the price you can get a SRT6 for theres nothing that compares. Id be willing to bet tho in the future (and I mean distant future) the SRT6 will be worth more than the 350Z. So what do you have done to your car and what are you running these days tyler?
very aware. I spoke with him a while ago and he said he only uses it at the track which is prolly good for more reasons than one, he is using a chip that advances timing also, so. . take that how you want but anyone who knows about nitrous knows not to advance timing but to retard it for spray. Im sure if someone only sprayed 75 shot and could retard timing while spraying 1.5 to 2 degrees they would be fine if used sparingly. but after all it is still only gonna run low 14's to high 13's with many other bolt on's so is it really worth it. why not just get a srt-6 if you are set on the crossfire. basically you take a stock crossfire srapy a 75 shot, its good for low to mid 14's maybe with a great driver.
i stated before when i had needswings intake, magnaflow cat-back, and 75 shot, i was dead nuts with my buddies 97 bolt on m3. his best time ever is a 14.2, he runs consistent 14.4-14.5 at the track. just really don't see it being worth it. especially when the motor goes because you are spraying all the time to keep up with low 14 second cars and you could have a srt-6 that goes low 13's out of the box. and waayy more potential.

although the 350z is not going to be made anymore and the 370z will be out pretty soon, so i would say that some of the z's will be woth quite a bit in the future also. .
well lets see, stock went 13.7, put injen intake, nismo cat back and ran 13.5 with trac. problems. through a set of et streets on and went 13.0. with more practice convinced could have broke 12's but never got to run it like that again. i got a procharger kit and ran the 9lb. pulley with the mods i stated, i got a plenum spacer, and a turbo xs utec to control everything and tune. made 400whp, and never got to run it at the track since its end of the year and track is closed. i would expect low low 12's easily out of it with the street tires. and 11's with the et streets. now in the process of putting rods and some other goodies forged internals meth injection, etc.to support the real power coming, and going with the greddy twin turbo kit and support enough to run some real boost on it, and make all of 600whp. place called mrc in jersey is doing the build which specialize in z's. Can't wait till winter gets over already!! just started snowing here about an hour ago, car is going to be safe in mrc's shop though for winter so oh well.

def. love the car, it is fun as hell and turns heads everywhere i go. sounds amazing and is a drift machine. lol .. all around great car and is touring edition so has every option available, i figure ive made it into another project that is going to really be something. and exactly what i want, and it is almost paid off so i will keep it and in the future get a 370z and have both.
not a big fan of that new gtr although its a beast. . just think its overrated for some reason. idk, it does rip though. just too much money for this guy. .

i agree with that, i would def. think of the srt-6 as a collectors car down the road. I totally agree you, you can't go wrong picking a srt-6 up for as cheap as they are going, i would have looked into one, but couldn't bring myself to an automatic. Since then i have driven a e55 amg and know the mercedes auto trans can still be fun and is a great trans. but it is still auto. I just was not ready for that. i think the srt-6 would be more of a hit if it were made standard but since its not i think that keeps sales down on them. The srt-6 in my book is a great car to buy, but owning a n/a crossfire i would never recommend it to someone else. And i don't know if it was just mine or what but i was not happy with more than just performance. It creeked and squeaked interior wise like no other, and the ticking motor sound drove me crazy, like a exhaust leak sound that is talked about on this site alot. and the trac. control was a big problem for me also that can't fully be ignored. For someone looking to make there car faster the aftermarket scene is just not there or strong enough yet for the n/a and i guess i would only recommend to someone looking for a nice looking cruiser for two.

i really don't see the point here. you know you're right, and so does mostly everyone else. i too bought a limited xfire not knowing the lack of power upgrades, and at times regret it. were stuck looking great and being slow for now. maybe chuck will give us a leap, but even then we'll be again limited to where he takes us, maybe a little more. i see myself getting out eventually, because i like fast. but i really like this car alot. i would love nothing more than to keep driving it for now then later when i pic up another car attempt a ls2 or ls3 engine swap. thats what this car really needs if the diff and axles will hold up. the engine bay looks roomy enough to me too for it.
way to be honest like me, see not so hard. i feel the same about the crossfire, and actually looked into a ls2 swap, i have a local shop who specializes in ls1 and ls2 swaps, they build custom motor mounts and harnesses and do everything in house. It is in Utica, NY, can't think of the name of hand but ill find out, im sure other places do this also. that would be a nice addition to the n/a crossfire, and could still be stick and not auto. would have some go to it then!! name just came to me think its new era performance or speedshop.
